:rasta:There was a stupid Prius(OK, probably stoned stupid driver) in the fast lane on I-70 near downtown yesterday making everybody go around. Was doing exactly 55. Prius drivers took over that responsibility from Boulder, CO hippie types driving old VW vanagons in the fast lane at 50 MPH (M=miles= 5280 feet , per=for each, H=hours=60 minutes) Heh Heh:rasta:

You know the Prius. They have great MPG's. Preferred mode of transportation by the "anti everything they don't approve of crowd". The Boulder Bubble Triangle, in CO, is one of their primary breeding grounds. Probably featured on Nat Geo special. It's a super duper green car that runs on electricity/gas produced from evil anti green, coal fired power plants and evil anti green deadly nuclear reactors and has plastics made from evil anti green petroleum and super evil anti green petroleum conglomerates. Not to mention lead, copper, and rare earth metals 44lbs of rare earth metals per Prius. New acronym=REMPP.mined by the super anti pollution pro green Chinese (sarc) since it's next to impossible start or reopen a mine here because of Prius driving EPA bureaucrats that hate mining, watering your lawn, raising goats, and evil anti green farmers that need water to feed the human race. Boulder Bubble Prius owners love wind energy. (Volts are slowly coming in to vogue. NOT). You know the big green machines that have 100 ft+ blades that require special alloys for strength and flexiblity which require certain rare earths and other metals that require evil anti green mining and kill more bald eagles in a day than an average evil anti green pipeline in decades. Not too many bald eagles nesting on wind towers these days. (I'm not anti wind, Vestas Energy is one of our largest clients along with several other wind energy customers. I am just anti subsidy) Where was I? What is a Prius? I remember now. They have great MPG's ( sarc):amen::amen::amen:

My sister has a Prius and she gets 50+ mpg. Can't beat that. I rode in the back and it was surprisingly roomy to boot. I wish I could get half that mpg, haha.

I'm trying to get a quarter of that. The Prius does have some pretty nifty engineering. I have to go to Boulder a lot and I usually get the evil eye when I try to fit my Tundra into a parking spot designed for a Prius. In Boulder it seems like the accepted car is a Prius or Outback. Subaru's galore. The fact I take an occasional smoke really ticks them off. ((and my 2nd Amendment sticker doesn't help) I fit their stereotype of evil.

lol so much Prius hate on this thread.

We get 46-50+ mpg on average in ours. It's great for long distance trips.

I don't hate em. They are a cool car. Also depends where you do your long distance driving. Won't be too great on the Alaska-Canadian Hwy. Hardly any gas to none after summer when everything closes for the season. Electricity? Bring solar panels. (a lot of gas fumes from all the spare gas cans you would need would make for an unpleasant trip.)
One the other hand my neighbors' wife drives from Aurora to Colorado Springs and back every day to work in a Volt. 60+ miles each way. Saves them a ton of money.

Why do the wives'/sisters always get the common sense vehicles and we get gas guzzler Tundra's? That's a potential problem thread right there. Nevermind.

The Prius in So Cal and most EV/hybrids for that matter are among the most aggressively driven cars on the road. Rarely see them under 80 on the freeway.

BTW I drive the 35mpg FR-S and the wife drives the 13mpg Tundra.

Definitely worth the wait. My friend Tom told me that several years back, there was a UPS stock split and he had purchased a lot by that time. I forget how much he got from that, but it was a stupid crazy amount.

I don't think the stereotypes from a few years ago (regarding the Prius) fit too well anymore. There are a lot of them on the road and they aren't all driven by douche bags. I loved mine, but my wife couldn't take the seats so once we paid it off we looked for an equivalent fuel sipper that was comfy for her back. We wound up with a MUCH less expensive 2015 Honda Fit EX-L that does everything the Prius did but gets around 7-10mpg less. As for the Tundra, I'm embarrassed to say I can hypermile the thing but I haven't been able to get over 23.5 for a 50 mile trip.

I agree with the stereotype thing overall. I just have a mental complex issue with Boulder, CO hypocritical "greenies', not the car. I'm not anti green by any means just don't care for greenie hypocrits. I certainly don't think people who drive Prius' are all idiot lib stoners. That would make me an idiot dolt, red neck, NASCAR loving, for total environmental destruction, anti science, gun hugger. The big truck 4X4 stereotype. (Although I do like my guns.) Heh Heh. Boulder is made fun of a lot and they hate it. I actually would not mind having a Subaru Forester for a daily driver some day and they are all over the place here. Good mountain car.
