Agreed on both counts.

 

So after a few weeks emailing back and forth with scangauge rep, I've now got an xgauge that seems to work so far for the A750 5spd auto trans in the 05 and 06 models. All the previous attempted xgauges didn't read at all. I can't speak on the accuracy of this one since I've yet to get it above 134° but it seems promising.

Plus I hate roaches and assume all boxes come with them standard. I always open them over hard floors where I can dispense quick [street] justice PRN.

 

Is it a Martin? Thankfully the climate there isn't so bad. Here you would need to keep it in a climate controlled area for storage. Worked with a guy who had 5 different Custom Les Paul's with the Nitro finish who was anal about that stuff.

 

Oh man. Long long ago I took a Summer job at one of those nasty 99 cent stores. I had to stock a dozen pallets of goods per week by hand. Those boxes came from who knows where.

One time I was carrying a heavy one full of cookies and chips and shit. I felt scratching go from my hip up my back. I dropped that box and screamed like a girl, then saw the fucker fall out on his back. He was damn near the size of my palm. He blasted like a stomped ketchup packet when my Etnies came down on him.

 

Nah, guild. Layered back n sides, solid top. I keep thinking it will be fine but I don't wanna be mad at myself.

48 is pretty much t-shirt weather. I swapped tires on both vehicles and I broke a sweat today. It was in the low 30's here.

 

I try and wait for the mid-50s since they come and go in both fall and winter here. If I can't wait, I'll work in the 30s like yourself.

 

I mean... if it's damaged already, it's too late to refuse it, so waiting 'til tomorrow isn't going to help that out. However, opening it early, there's a legit risk of expanding too fast, cracks, etc. With holes in both sides of the box, it should acclimate maybe a bit faster than anticipated.

I have the same issues when I beer-swap with folks. Waiting the 48 hours for things to acclimate before cracking it is painful. But if you crack it too quick after being on a plane, at high altitude, it never drinks right, carb is funny, etc.

I mean, if we're going gas station brands, everybody knows Golden Flake's Louisiana Hot Sauce skins are where it's at.

 

Your pork rinds should be natural and not processed. Straight from a slab of bacon and fried...

 

I mean, if I had my druthers that's what they'd always be, although if you've ever cleaned them, it's already one hell of a process, a damn chore, to the point I guess you could say all chicharrons are "processed" to an extent. But when you're on the road, you pick what you can pick.

The farm I get my shoulders from only does primal cuts, I've made them from scratch several times. I gotta admit, I like cooking, I grew up cooking, my grandpa always told me if you needed to rely on a woman to eat a good meal, you're not much of a man. But I don't like making foods that require an hour of very-active work but everyone tends to scarf down in a few seconds without thinking twice about what went into it.

That said, the only thing I hate worse than that is wasting animal parts. So when I'm getting ready to toss a shoulder or two in the smoker, you know what I'm doing with the skins on those primal cut shoulders...

 

By contrast I ordered something from the rain forest less than five hours ago. It was just delivered!

When my buddy got a pellet smoker we smoked a brisket, and as an expieriment we smoked the trimmings. Turned out amazing, even the dry stuff up on the rack. Forgot what all was mixed in the pan.

 

So burnt ends, basically?

That's literally one of my favorite smoked foods to eat.

 

Going to buy a pair of OME 885's. Will someone that does not have a lot or any added weight on the front bumper who is running these OME coils take the center hub to fender well measurement and post it up, please? Thanks.

Yeah, I forgot about that thread. I did find that @Festerw is running the same setup with his 5100's on the lowest setting and getting a 21.5" measurement. I need a little more height since the rear on my measures out at 23.5" and don't want that much rake. Maybe 2nd clip setting would be better for me. I'll see what @empty_lord comes up with later. Thanks

 

I think @Festerw and I have almost identical heights on different setups. I want a tad more up front and last check had over 3" of droop on King OEM, seems I have room to lift up front.

 

I think my Measurements are on the suspension thread. Granted things likely have settled since that

What's a typical transmission temp? I understand it fluctuates a lot depending on whether it's idle, speed, load etc. I've still only seen mine hit 134° so far. It's been since I sold my taco in Aug 2018 that I've been able to measure trans temp, so I really don't remember what's normal and the xgauge I'm using is experimental at best. I'm their guinea pig lol
