I don't know about the only game in town.
It seems one member bought the VLEDs kit and now wants to buy a @memario1214 harness because its made better...:eek2:

Wasn't worth it to save a few bucks I guess...

I'll be buying a @memario1214 kit in December.
I gotta get the family's Xmas paid for before I can buy my toys...:D

I appreciate Colton's effort and time he spent on developing this kit and answering all our questions...

Oh, I know that. I'm just giving him crap. I was running on very little sleep, lots of red bull, and a sugar rush yesterday, so no filter and everything was funny to me. :p

Pull on that rabbit... PULL! When it comes to building something from the ground up and troubleshooting issues as they arise there comes a point where too many voices can just be noise, but if there's generally a new idea well I'll take it. I now am wondering if it would be cost-effective to make a relay for the older trucks that handles it at the relay regardless of what bulbs you put where. The problem with pouring money into something like that is that it's clearly a product that work its way into legacy status.
    2 Prototypes for Option B
    This
We are finally back in the saddle here so I'll be able to get more videos soon.
I'd love to sell an "extreme" option for sure, but I don't want to go down the path of offering a million options as standard practice (at least not right now). The cost just to have a bunch of VLEDS stuff on hand is incredible, and so adding in an "extreme" option only adds to that! If someone wanted to have an extreme setup we will certainly accommodate, but I just won't stock that version is all! Anyone who has this kit now should be able to attest to the fact that the amber is rightfully bright, even punching between the brake lights no problem when someone is on them. I would have been more apt to jump for the extremes for the switchback out of the chute if the white (backup in our case) was a larger jump than from 900lm to 1000lm. The amber is what gets the extreme treatment, and I didn't see the value proposition in it. Tell me I'm crazy!
If you already have some resistors spliced into your existing OEM wiring I wouldn't bother picking up resistors from me when you buy the kit. You should be GTG

Side note - I know there's a couple HotTails orders hanging out there! I'm here and will be building on them today! God willing you'll all get tracking info today and we should be caught up.

This... This is what you are doing to me. Don't mind the stuff in the bed. Helping grandpa move so there's a few things going on all at once in my world. Still working through some issues to make it work RIGHT, but we're knocking out small things and making progress. VOLUME UP at the 0:19 mark when I realize that all of the turn signals are triggering at the same time after just the switchback triggered on the turn signal (when it shouldn't have).

I don't regret one bit. I go tundra hunting now. Go front of them and turn and brake. How bright is turn signal? You can not miss it.

I was following a Tundra today with bright sun behind us and realized our brake light sucks. I didn't had a chance to go ahead of him either.

Talked with Memario and got a set of resistors even though my headlights have halogens for the turn signal. With the resistor the Hot Tails work perfectly and I got both sides installed without issue.

My 2 cents. If you are on the fence, spend the $20 for the resistors when you place your order. I'm sure we all blow $20 bucks on useless shit. If I'd had them, I'd have been rocking my Hot Tails for a week already instead of leaving the truck in the garage.

Is there any reason they couldn't have been run with the hyperflash? I mean, if the driver behind me is epileptic that's kinda not my problem. :notsure:

It tags my OCD too, but I'd live with it until the resistors showed up. I just wasn't sure how aware the truck was and if it'd do anything more than hyperflash. For whatever reason, warning messages piss me off super fast.

Thanks for helping me be finally happy with the stock tail lights :D Took me about 20mins to install—everything was clearly labeled and you even put the bolts on the triton bulbs. I already had VLED resistors so it was 100% plug and play. I'm now running VLED switchbacks front and rear with no issues on my 2016. Its also running with @Puppypunter's license plate light harness on the passenger side.

Just put mine in - 2016 with 2019 OEM LED headlights, LED turn signals, resistors already installed. Installed these with no resistors in the tails and I have no hyperflash. Look super bright, can't wait to use them at night.

Did have one issue, the lower guide clip on the passenger rear decided it no longer want to be in 1 piece. 5 years of never being removed left it pretty stuck in and discoloured. So now I'm on the lookout for at least a passenger taillight to replace this one, not confident in the plastic weld holding on.

Installed tail lights and working great except for hyper flash when turn signals are on. Hazard lights don’t hyper flash. Can I get some resistors?

Yay and dammit all the same! I'll say this...I've had my tails in and out so many times that my lower one is also no longer with us. With my bolts tight on the inside my taillight doesn't move at all. YMMV, but I'm not motivated to repair mine since it doesn't move.
    Negative Ghost Rider. Sorry!
    Finicky damn things!

Absolutely, please just pm me with your order number and/or your name and I can fire you over an invoice for the resistors!

Seriously! I don't know if it just modern cars in general, or Toyota trucks in particular, but these trucks are touchy when it comes to hyper flash. I build harnesses for the SR/SR5 Tacoma's to use OEM LED headlights, and I test each one before I send it out. I can have the same harness, hooked to the same headlight, same everything, and I will get hyper flash randomly. I don't disconnect anything or move anything, but sometimes it will hyper flash, other times it doesn't. Drive's me crazy!! :annoyed:

I don't know how you guys deal with Toyota electronics, they are extremely fickle, exhibit A is my truck this week

Stock I had all halogen headlights - 2016 SR5 spec
2 years ago installed OEM LED's with LED signals, 2 resistors, 1 each side, all works perfect
Sunday I install the Hotshot kit, no resistors in tails - works great with ignition turned to ON, engine off
Monday I take pups for a checkup, it's snowing so I turn on headlights, hyperflash on driver's side only :annoyed:, order resistors but still curious as to what changed
Today pups goes for a nail trim, nice and sunny out so headlights off, NO HYPERFLASH :angrygirl:

So I go into diagnosing mode - passenger side always works perfect in all situations, but drivers side changes. So I'm sitting in front of the drug store turn signals going crazy, left then right then left then right, headlights on headlights off. Drivers side hyperflash comes back when I turn the lights on, second I turn them off it goes back to normal

You guys building these harness must have no hair left, I'm pulling mine out just installing these that have been tested a bit.

So I'm gonna put resistors in so they never hyperflash, but I'm at a loss at how turning the lights on or off affects the signal circuit

I assure you... We pull our hair out. I'm bald now. I blame electronics.

Don't think too hard about it though! I'll get you resistors soon and get you off to the races!

I actually have option A which is really nice and goes well with my mirrors. I think the amber visibility is the better choice.

Patiently waiting for the video. Can't wait to see them put through their paces for all possible uses.

***FULL DISCLOSURE*** I'm patiently waiting to purchase too, because there are too many things that I want right now and the stock tails are actually functional. Eventually, I will have the whole thing lit up, but it's just not the number one priority right now.
