Valhalla’s Shield theft deterrent/skid plates info and ordering post

Yeah, I got my DE plate on mine with the pro plate. If I can do it, you definitely can and the Valhalla plates are notched for the Pro plate already so you'll be good. If you have a friend or somebody that owes you a favor and they have skinny arms you'll be even better.

 

I know you're very busy, but do you have a timeline in mind for when you might get around to the transfer case access & ribs mods you wanted to make on the plates?

 

Within the next week or 2. The 4x4 version will be first as I have a truck (mine) to design off of. The 2wd will be able to be retrofitted to the original rear cat plate by drilling a few holes.

Just curious. Will there be a discount for those of us who have already purchased 2 of the 3 plates already to be able to purchase the third one.

 

That isn’t off the table, but that would be dealt with on a case by case basis

It’s an expensive tool, about $580. One source selling was sold out. Cuts a pipe in seconds per ad.

 

Let me know, by dm if needs be, of what you are offering. I have purchased the front and back cat plates and had you install them on the truck. I'm looking to possibly purchase the front skid plate. Thanks from the friendly neighborhood social worker.

 

Man, it pisses me off and it's not my truck...there's two groups of assholes in this one: (1) the ones stealing the cats and (2) the ones who saw the shit happen (probably) and didn't say shit.

I have a TRD skid plate - and when I was in for an oil change, I asked the dealer to throw the plate on. He charged me $55 dollars to do it...an effing bargain and much easier while it's on the rack.

I dropped the truck off at the dealership today.
We talked about covers.
They said they have one and he'll send me some info on it.
Also said it would take 6 to 8 weeks to get the replacement parts.
They already have 7 tundras on the lot waiting on catalytic converter pipes..

I'll be damned if I get these parts replaced just to have them stolen again..

I'll be driving a rental Tacoma in the meantime..

 

I wish I could do installs on a lift, getting my arm in there for the TRD PRO plate would be soooooooo much easier, I spin on the ground looking for the sweet spot

 

So there are 87 pages here... I read the first few pages and the last few pages but I'm not seeing an Idiot's Guide To Plates, lol.

What do I need to protect my cats? I don't do offroading, nastiest it gets for me is rutted up wildlife area roads, so skid plate really isn't needed. My only goal is to keep thieves from chopping them off at a reasonable price. Do the plates come with everything needed to bolt these on? Does it involve putting holes in the frame? etc..

Put mine on back in September. I'm glad I did, Tundra's have become a hot item around here for cat thieves.

It’s happening to other vehicles as well. The Prius is also a big target. The Tundra is targeted because it has 4 cats that are very accessible.

 

My neighbors (2 doors down) newer F150 was hit. The other neighbors GMC wasn't. My street is shaped like a P, the second truck was around the corner. The first is on the straight part and visible from the main road.

At powder coat, shipping pretty much as soon as I get it back. I am waiting for stuff to come back from powder coat to start really clearing out orders. I also did an install last night that used a lot of penta bolts, so I am out of those this morning after I packed up a few orders. I have more coming.

I should have a bunch of happy people, I packed a massive amount of plates today! If you have pentagon bolts, I am waiting on the order to come in for those

 

Co-worker got his Tundra cats stolen at his apartments, Toyota said it was gona be a 4 to 5 month wait for new cats. He went to a muffler shop and got them replaced plus added a flowmaster. Went grocery shopping the next day and got the cats and the muffler stolen again. I told him about your shields.
