What makes you angry?

I bought a "mocha bread" roll last night at a little Asian market. Took a bite right now and apparently somebody moved the baskets and I really bought a chipped potato roll. Doesn't exactly pair with my cup of coffee.

Reminds me of the time I went to Rome. It was a very hot April day, spent hours walking around ruins and was out of water for a while. Went to grab some pizza slices for lunch and I pointed at the ones with pineapple chunks (bring the hate). The guy at the counter said something in Italian that I couldn't understand. I said again "the pineapple please" and pointed at them. He said something in Italian, I nodded, he shrugged and heated them up. I went to take a bite expecting the refreshing pineapple, it wasn't pineapple but cubed potato bits. Never seen potato on pizza like that.

Maybe a cruel Italian rebellion against pineapple on pizza?

When I have a million things to do and my wife insists let's go to Costco just for dog treats, eggs, cheese. Yeah, right. We been here an hour already.

 

Tell her chewy's is cheaper on those treats! can't help with the eggs and cheese.

How various fast food restaurants and coffee shops have increasingly been adding the "tip" option upon checkout. You poured 16 Oz of black coffee into a cup and tossed a lid on it....come on.

 

Agreed. Want to earn a tip. Come take my order when I'm seated. Bring me my food. Then clear the table when I am finished. Oh wait that's a restaurant not fast food.

Restaurants around here complain that govt assumes a certain percentage of tip will be received for tax purposes. So if people are not tipping normal, then they are losing money. My response is that’s not my problem to fix!

 

People who respond to an email by phoning me. If I wanted to talk to you, I would have called in the first place.

 

Especially when it truly is a short answer.

 

Ive tried to come up with an answer that doesnt break down to ‘people’ and the only things i can come up with is walking into a spiderweb, mosquitos, pollen, and time.

 

Restaurants where you pay, and tip, before being seated. There is no incentive for good service at that point. That is a fast food arrangement and shouldn't be used in a nice restaurant.

Was out with about 6 family members last night and they wanted to stop at this Ramen place. I'm not big on soup at all so I usually resort to whatever rice and meat combos they have at these places. My brother in law ordered/paid first for his family, my cousin went next, then my wife and I ordered/paid/sat down.

I was surprised that in less than 10 minutes they started bringing food out. The Ramen first, followed by some rice dishes, followed by some fruity cocktails. Not surprisingly my brother in laws food was out first, then my cousins, then my wifes sushi came out. By this time we were there maybe 35 minutes or so with food showing up in waves. When the guy dropped off my wifes sushi, he looked around and saw everybody else halfway through their dinner and told me he's checking on my food. Ok.

Nobody came back out for a while. I was pretty carried away in a conversation and realized everybody else was done eating. My sister asked why I didn't order, well I did but they forgot it. I told her at this point I'll cancel the order and grab a burger on the way home instead, a bit annoying but no big deal to me.

A young lady came out and asked if we were missing an item. I politely said yes, but since everybody else is done let's cancel that. I don't want to eat in a rush and I don't want it to go. She said okay and went back in. A guy comes out who seemed to know what was going on, he asked if I'm missing a chicken bowl, yeah that's it, I'm canceling it though. He said be right back.

He then came out 5 minutes later with it, "sorry it JUST came out". Now I'm on the spot with the food they forgot 30 minutes ago that I no longer want. I wasn't being angry about it, even though I was hungry. I appreciate that they were trying to make it right but they were missing that my mind was made up, for a few reasons.

1) When you go out with family and spend $16 on a bowl of white rice, chicken, and veggies, the idea isn't to take it to go, or to be the last person eating.

2) I already asked to cancel it. They've been tipped already and essentially got too much tip for what we did get (a $9 sushi apetizer).

3) I know restaurants pretty well. I'm betting that the bowl was left in the kitchen, the waiter lost track of it and left it on the bar. The 2nd guy knew they had an orphan chicken bowl for some reason and 30 minutes later put the peices together and reheated it. I don't want reheated food, and if I take it home to reheat it I'll have a $16 dry chicken bowl.

I told him I appreciate it, but its too late and I no longer want it. Just refund me for that item and we're good. He left with it.

The young lady came back out and said she removed it, we will see a refund in 2-3 business days. Then asked if I want to take the bowl anyway, they can wrap it to go instead of throwing it out.

Now, this is an interesting... moral? Character? That I have. If I'm given something for free, complimentary, I gladly accept. If I intended to pay for something but backed out, I don't feel right accepting. I feel like one of those assholes who makes a fuss and gets free food out of it, which wasn't the case here.

My wife jumped in saying she wants it.
We waited for 10 minutes and at that point I said let's get out of here. Now I really don't want it. I grabbed a burger on the way home instead.

 

How about people who say let's set up a meeting for that?

This is where I would start to get frustrated. Sorry, I have to take it now? or sorry you guys blew it and what are you going to do about it? The correct words from his mouth should have been, I'm so sorry about the delay - we are taking this off the bill - here you are.

 

When you drop off your Tundra at an upholstery place and they bring it back with dents in the corner of cab and corner of bed!!! After on more than one occasion they assured said person that they would take extra special care of said Tundra!!!! More than Angry!!!!!
