Personally I went through James Randy Taylor at Tech12Volts and had a great experience. Very knowledgeable, great customer service, and prices.

James Randy Taylor is in Georgia, looks like maybe Alma Georgia. I'm not familiar with the area. I just ordered from him and installed it myself, but he does a lot of installs. Send him an email, he's very good about getting back to you quickly.

What are you wanting to do?
Do you have the JBL or non JBL system?
Keeping the stock head unit or replacing?
    Adding Subwoofer?
Upgrading the system really was pretty simple, just took some time. It was my first experience installing anything and I didn't have any issues installing it.

I will recommend bball to steer you really right. This man knows his stuff - and I've never heard it before but I bet his "system" sounds sick.

What happened with them? Order something and never got it? I've heard a lot of good things about them except they were expensive, never really heard anything bad.

Mr Gino here purchased an expensive piece of hardware. Long story short, he tried to return it and they are not processing it. The unit returned back to the warehouse and tracking indicates it was received and signed for by the proper party but taco tunes is denying it and refusing to return his messages and emails. Basically screwing papa gino out of his hard earned mula.

I've heard a lot of positive stuff too so it surprised me. But I'm kinda biased as Gino is the big papa. I'll take his word.

That sucks when people dont have any integrity. Looking around a little more i just read some complaints about bad customer service. I dont know how small businesses stay in business nowadays with bad service.

Anyone have first hand experience with OEM audio plus?? I'm thinking about getting their kit to keep the factory harness and what not, but can't seem to find anyone with any experience.

Is it worth it? I'm talking the entire replacement that replaces tweeters, door speakers, and adds sub.

Did a quick search and there are a ouple people that bought it and were very happy. O e thing to keep in mind is that people have different standards and different listening preferences than others. One speaker sound great to one person and just ok to a other. Even listening to the speakers in a shop versus in your truck can change quite a bit.
You can make any system a plug and play by buying the harnesses. Dont think you need to buy the oem or ********* in order to have a plug and play and not have to cut wires. My system is jl audio helix and jbl and i didnt cut a single wire. If i ever sell my truck i will put it back to stock without any issue.

The exact reason I want someone who has it to ask a few specific questions about what was noticed over stock. I do have a certain ear, but after $$$$$$$ spent on a few different systems in my Tacoma, I know what I like and dislike.

That said... I don't want to go all out like I did on the Tacoma stereo, and instead just a little upgrade toward the sound qualities I like.

I have a buddy who heard the OEM Audio Plus stereo first hand last week at a show. He said it was a very impressive sounding system. I've had the Taco Tunes recurve in a previous Tundra and it did sound good. I still prefer an aftermarket head unit for the best sound quality but that's not a plug and play system like you were asking for.

Are they bitching because the harness and adapters weren't returned? Or just flat out not responding?

The OEM Audio Plus I didn't hear first hand but I trust my friends opinion. The video install for the OEM Audio Plus is very detailed and well laid out. I have had the taco Tunes full setup and a completely all aftermarket stereo in a Tundra.

Gotcha. Just curious about the sound quality particularly how the sub is tuned with the new amp. Assuming that the sub amp is untunable. And curious about the tweeters. (I hate tinny sounding tweeters.) also curious if the new "tuning" with the new amp removes some bass from the doors to integrate the sub and rebalance.

If you really want the best sound output then keeping the stock head unit makes it hard to do that. Having an aftermarket head unit will allow a better line output signal. Most people would still like most of the plug and play options over the stock or JBL Tundra stereo. I've just been spoiled with having a full amplified stereo and it's hard to turn back after that.

Yeah I know... Been down this road already and that's why it's hard. I have a damn near 10k stereo in my Tacoma including head unit and all the misc... so I'm not new to full overhauls.

I just want to keep the tundra close to Stock. It's my luxury ride, and want an upgraded stereo with the stock feel.

I had the same issue with my Tundra. My tacoma was all decked out, subs, tweeters, doors, a nice head unit, custom boxes molded, even bluetooth audio controls that I could adjust on a fat EQ with my phone. I ended up just running a line out converter, swapping out the speakers and fitting a sub under the rear seat (Pioneer TS Shallow 12"). But it's been endless headaches... Even my local audio shop (which I would trust with my unborn children) can't figure out some of the issues.

At this point it makes me wish I had just grabbed a HU and done everything properly. I love the stock look and functionality, but it's a hassle with our harnesses and weak as hell HU.
