Look at the hand models build thread, clean them and then spray with pb silicone

Yeah unfortunately that’s how it came. But I got it going. I was trying to upload a video of it working but won’t let me upload it. I clean up the rats nest. Way better now

I originally did the PHM silicone spray trick which helped a lot. These seem to retract well so I think the new webbing fixed the issue.

So, this is what you did? And you're happy enough with the color match?

The belts feel so heavy compared to my Tacoma, and they have problems retracting, I'm thinking of doing the same. I should have extracted them when I dropped them at @Speed Freek 's today but I wasn't thinking about that. Though I can for sure not drive the truck for a long stretch once I get it back.

Did you also send the lap belt or just say f it on that? I wonder what happens if I toss it in the box...

Got a flat, went to remove the wheel, 3 studs snapped. Will be addressing the rear drum assembly, cylinder, studs, etc... wish me luck.

Did the ChrisFix bed LEDs. Used 3M tape and Hot glue to make brackets to keep the LED strip secure to the bed of the truck.

Used dielectric grease on all connections to keep water out.

Glued a neodymium magnet for extra strength to kill the lights when tailgate closes.

Used 14 guage wiring from battery to the back of the driver side tail light wrapped in wire loom from Harbor Freight.

Used posi-taps for the illuminated switch connected to tail light.

I think my old belts are more gray and these look more gold but they still match the seats pretty well. They feel A LOT better so I’m please. And they don’t stick to my clothes which I love haha. I do wonder what black would have looked like but not sure the two tone with the tan would have looked good. I still want to do Katzkins soon so I hope the belts don’t clash with whatever color I end up going with.

Was going to replace upper BJ’s today as part of the “new to me” tundra repair list but noticed this fun clash. Ended up just replacing end links with suspenionmaxx links. A very noticeable improvement over stock links with no bushings! Haha

Nice @Chevy9124 . I did the same to mine when I replaced my lower ball joints back in December 2020. It does make a difference.

I just did Maxx links also with a Hellwig bar and only thing I didn't like is that there is no way to tighten the sway bar bolt because there so no room to fit a wrench on the bottom. I believe mine is also loose because I think it's making a clunk sound sometimes, but the bushing looks like they are already a little squeezed.

I had the same problem then realized I had to remove/loosen the side bolt in order to get a wrench to fit the bottom bolt to tighten.

I've covered this before - buy this stubby wrench. Most wrenches are too thick, but this one is not and it fits on the lower bolt for the SuspensionMaxx sway bay links.

Thanks but those links aren't working for some reason. As long as they're T5 size they'll work?

I'm lost. How did new sway bar links help stop the UBJ from hitting the coil? Or are you saying you're gonna wait on that?

I thought this over and decided to try some green T5 and T10 LED’s to see how they look.

At first I thought about maybe trying to convert to ice blue like my Tacoma. But then I decided I actually like the lime green OG color. Wouldn’t mind a bit more intensity. I’ll post some photos as I don’t expect to swap the instrument bulbs for a while so I suspect it will be possible to see how the radio bezel looks compared to the instruments.

Understood but doing a search on T5 LED isn't bringing up what looks like will fit. Do you have a link to what you're referring to?

Yes sir. T5 and PC74 Twist Socketare the same. I attached a bulb size chart in my original post for reference. The WLJH 6 pack fit my truck. Some are different sizes. Try to get same size as the original bulb so you do not have installation problems.

I heard of a nice little trick to tighten the top nut first, leaving the bottom end loose enough to get a wrench on the lower nut. Once those are snug you slide the threaded shaft into the frame bracket.

Sorry about that, I had to skip the UBJ repair and only did the end links. I’m gonna have to order UCA’s to fix the ball joint issue.

I figured for $10 I’d see if these fit. I can try them on my old bezel to see. Maybe even get bench power and a photo. Just ordered so not here yet.
