I moved some chimes we had over to our deck swing supports so they catch a little more wind.

    IMG_0497.jpg

I also started cleaning out my shed. When we moved in 6 years ago, things just got tossed in there. Last winter, rats moved in and they made a mess out the insulation. Bastards.

    IMG_0495.jpg
The weather is nice and I've had a little energy so I've started tackling cleaning it up and organizing.

That brings me to my next question for you all. The rats were coming in through holes in the siding. At some point, the original building was torn down and somebody built what I have now but didn't utilize the entire foundation. They also put the siding all the way down to the ground so it's rotted. At some point, they've replaced it before because the bottom three boards of siding had been replaced with hardiplank, I think. I would like to fix this but not sure how. Any advice would be much appreciated. I know it'll need some kind of flashing, but I don't want it to look bad. Oh, and cheap. I have to be able to do it myself.

I also am hoping to replace the door with a full sized one, the windows with ones that actually open, re-insulate the walls after I pull out the rat infested shit and line the walls and ceiling with cedar, then tile the floor. Ideally, I'd like to split it into a workout room and tool shed. Right now my workout room is on the screened-in side porch and Mrs. Bandito would like it back.

Thank you - it's just starting to get cold at night so we'll see if I was able to close up all of the rat entrances in the main house. Damn roof rats.

turned an old empty pond / eyesore into a fire-pit area. did realize how large this pond actually was until it took 6 ton of stone and barely looks like anything. next phase is to get some more trees planted along the road or do a straight run of fencing

    Just add blankets, nice!
Does it have a base, or attach to the wall?

It just leans against the wall. Where we're putting it, it'll be between the couch and a wall, so it won't slide anywhere. If I was going to put it more in the open, I'd probably glue rubber to the feet or something to prevent it sliding.

Worked on making a goofy Yakk Skellington project for Halloween.

A stray/feral cat wandered up to tell me I was ignoring her. Fed her lunch and kept going.

Just need to get some highlighters to break open and create a luminescent fluid to really pop with a black light.

More shed work. I pulled out about 70% of the rat infested roof insulation and started organizing the shed a little. I also climbed on the roof and put some roof sealant over holes the previous owners tried to patch.

Thanks - one of the benefits of living near an Army base. I think they came from Fort Hood, got them from an active duty guy living in Austin. Suckers are heavy. One of them has an "Infantry" tag on it.

This material is sold at Home Depot and Lowe’s. I recommend you use the larger caulking tubes. It’s cheaper and saves you from having to start and stop your joints as much.

Started replacing electrical receptacles around the house as some have expanded their size and are unusable and cables hang and fail to charge... some work half the time or only 1 works when that one is in use.
