How often is ‘sending it’ the answer in icy conditions?

thats my plan. When in doubt, throttle out.

got some skids. Went full-on ricer drift mode. Didnt hit nothin’.

I can tell you for a fact 4x4 helps in those conditions. Good tires do as well.

2wd, 4 does help you track a little straighter and with unexpected ice.

I'll say that it doesn't hurt braking. If anything it seems to 'even' it out. Studs help in certain conditions but that's heavily dependent on what weather your area sees. Here we typically just get heavy, wet, lake effect so the studs aren't all that effective.

Depends on the situation it's either a great plan or a terrible plan and sometimes you don't know which until you're already committed.

All fair points. It doesn't hurt braking and it does help maintain a straight line. It won't slow you down much if any faster though if you're sliding. Where I am, ice under the snow is most common so studs are a game changer.

See! Just cause something is marketed to do one thing, doesn't mean it can't be used for others. I mean, they sell razors by showing faces, but we all know what else we use it for...

Full send is usually the answer for everything. That or 5 ugga duggas.

No, its dads bike, but its never been insured or registered. Up to me to chase the law off.

i completely plan to use these led xr headlights as fog lights for the tundra. they’re rowdy.

If youve replaced the pump bulbs and lines twice and the plugs once or more you could catch a solid 2”.

I’ve been after a proper shop/garage for years. It’s been a tough two years to get a quote, much less have a building built.
We may just move somewhere with more space and less house.

Best I can tell it’s the hvac for the master suite. I don’t mind ripping cars apart, but houses are held together with black magic and faith I don’t have. So I leave that shit alone as best I can.

Also, I finished up today’s project at ~1900est…and I fucking hate how it sits. Good thing I’m redoing the rear leaf packs either tomorrow or in a couple days.

Don't rely on 4wd to make you stop. Know your vehicle characteristics first.

4WD is 4 wheel go, not always 4 wheel STOP. Modern locking diffs can also be an issue, if you lock them in snow in the wrong conditions.

Vehicle to vehicle it is different, some 4wd are great, some not. Some you can blow by traffic in the unplowed fast lane at 50 while the right lane is doin 35, some you shouldn't. Some go well, but stop poorly.

I have had many four wheel GO cars and trucks. They go. They do many things. They can be driven to go many places. But those old reliables do not stop on ice/slush like a modern fwd/ABS vehicle in traffic on ice/snow. Knowing your vehicle and what it does, matters. I commuted in heavy winters in both a pre abs rwd, a pre abs 4wd and a modern front wheel drive with abs. I abandoned my 4wd after a few months because a modern fwd abs vehicle stops and steers better in traffic . But when the snow gets deeper than a honda door sill, I am right back to the 91 ford 4x4 pre abs. I know how to make it stop and go. The Tundra you ask???? Has been the best of both. But I haven't bought a newer car in over 12 years, and I don't drive the tundra in snow traffic/commute conditions.

    Hmmm. I'll buy it. $1k.

    And what's that? :monocle:

Wait H2O like, the guys who covered one of the best bands of all time with this gem? (DC Hardcore is in my wheelhouse, and I've still got Marginal Man's s/t vinyl in my possession, but never got too heavy into H2O - wasn't aware that's what the flag was. For NYC stuff, Gorilla Biscuits and maybe Judge, but ... )

Hehe, anyone else here got a Stihl 070? Just about broke my wrist trying to start mine and had it backfire; now that is a saw, not a single safety feature on it, makes the fuel economy of a Tundra look good too, practically have to fill it between each cut.

There just isn’t anything that better suits my needs.
I have a set of gears for the rear, but I’m back on the fence between stock 4.10s and 33s or 4.88s and 35s.
Have to finish the suspension work before I make a decision….but even that is getting close.

    The very same.
I’m more of a Judge fan than GB. H2O I didn’t get into until I was in my 30s. Totally slept on them for ~15 years.

I mean, it's not like music was as easy to get your hands on back then. Pre-Napster says, you were lucky you had a music store near you with someone who'd special order non-local stuff for you, and the scene wasn't exactly thriving in the southern states. We'd swap music we had and get stoked when someone new would move from other places bringing their tunes we couldn't easily get.

I distinctly remember as a teenager, I had a hell of a time getting music, you either got it at shows, or resorted to mail order. I had paper catalogs for Dischord, SST, Revelation and several others, and when all else failed, I had to roll the dice ordering from some black & white print mail order catalog - IRD Mail Order? You basically sent a check or cash with your order slip and had no idea if you'd ever get anything back. Sometimes something would show up in 4-5 weeks, sometimes 3 months would pass, and you'd get half your order and a hand-written note saying they're working on the rest.
