@Backslider Initial report: It's good. I mean, it isn't awe inspiring. There's a tiny little harsh thing to it - not offputting, but not perfection. Sometimes I need more than one bottle to solid in the feel of a label, so I might just get another. My last bottle of Four Roses Small Batch left me with a better impression, though, and has a similar price profile. Meantime, back to Black Saddle and Bibb & Tucker.

Always a fan of Buffalo Trace Bourbon cream. Was lucky enough to go on a tour a month or so back and left with a case of that, some Blantons, Eagle Rare etc.
Highly recommend a tour of Buffalo Trace, lots of fun.

This is a pretty solid bourbon even though it is made in NY, dusty old leather flavor to it.

Today was a good day. Birthday Bourbon might be my favorite bourbon on the planet.

Finally got around to trying it. It has a good amount of heat at first. Seemed to mellow out a bit after a while. It was good but I wouldn’t pay their prices for another bottle.

Your so lucky! I’ve never been able to find one bottle let alone several bottles of birthday bourbon. Cheers!

It took me parting with an 2018 George Stagg and some cash. I've yet to find one at retail. That's damn near impossible. Heard from a buddy that the entire state of AZ got less than 25 bottles.

I have their 15 year and I was massively disappointed in it.

Bought this today based on some people saying it was really good, it's just good in my opinion, will see how it ages. Also a buddy gave me a bottle of Basil Hayden today too, which I knew I wasn't a big fan of but I was polite. So I did a little blind with the Stellum, BH and Hillrock. Stellum was 1, Hillrock was 2 and BH well it's just crap.

I always shy away from 'novelty' brands/product lines as I feel you end up paying more for the logo and catch phrase than for good spirits...but you liked it eh?

That Weller Single Barrel is a real nice score. Crazy what that bottle goes for on secondary. I really like it despite how hard it is to track down.

It was quite a bit better than the standard bottling for only a tad more money. If they have any left by the time I finish this bottle
    I may get another one.

Our costcos don’t carry liquor unfortunately.

I did pick these up today as I liked the inexpensive Aberfeldy when I last had a pour and the Toast excites me if it’s anything like EC toasted barrel or Michter’s toasted one.

I was given a gift of Ransom Whipper Snapper Whiskey last week. Despite a few low reviews on the web it was honestly very good. It's very smooth and easy drinking and doesn't burn my throat like a lot of whiskies do to me.
    It's now a new favorite.

I keep looking for some of the new allocated releases but they are not easy to find. I found a few new ones but I’m still on the hunt. I’m already up to 120 plus bottles in my collection.

Keep calling your local liquor stores. Get to know the managers. They can definitely help you out with tips on stuff coming in. This is typically the best time of the year to get stuff. Which area of Texas are you near?
