@Green Thunder , you probably already know this but if not, there's coastal floods on the OR coast. Just saw on KOIN that coast guard is evacuating about 50 people that were staying at the a RV park off HW101 in Neskowin. Not sure if it affects where you're headed to.

Got a call from family in the area. In a half-panic…” The USCG is evac’n via helos”.

I’m coming from the Seattle area. Right now, parts of Hwy 18 are either closed or going slow due to water over the roadway. So going to Tillamook seems like the best option…but that could change in 15 minutes.

The cherry on top is our VRBO is inaccessible right now (access bridge is closed) but the owner “thinks” it should be good around 4pm when the tide goes out.

Not sure what we are going to do, but think we will stay home tonight and drive down tomorrow morning. That’s the least-sucks-balls option right now

So, everyone in WA does live in Seattle. Got it.

Yeah, I did not realize the flooding was that bad there. Hope everything works out for you and your family. Stay safe and dry!

Which means pretty often since there are a lot of farm implements in your neck of the woods.

@Explorer @RainMan_PNW and me (and @CrashRat who I'm not sure is active in this thread) are all near and around the Vancouver area here just across the river from you Portland folk.

Well, the conversation was around direction of travel (for me) to OR so most WA people will head down I-5 into the Den of Portland. But I think it is safe to say most of us active here in this tread are all a bit sensitive about being identified as Seattle or Portland. LOL.

So we bagged the drive this afternoon. Commute was already 6 hours long before we left. The VRBO owners were cool and refunded our fee for tonight. Not looking forward to 260 miles tomorrow morning and doing it again on Sunday. Not because of the distance, but because the Portland-Seattle run is horribly boring, generally ugly and prone to backups at any time. But family is worth it. Plus, the Tundra needs some miles. I’ll never get to change the oil at this rate!

Just started my 3rd G&T…my nerves were fried today

I carry the "chain" ones (it's like pot metal links) with the cable hoop on the "inside". I used them once last year - they worked great.

So sorry to see/hear about that carnage.

There's a few things you've got listed that are tempting, but I'll let the crows pick over the carcass first. I really don't need to be spending money on myself right now.

It broke last night for a reprieve. Next one coming in tomorrow or later tonight but not as strong. Weak cold front expected Sunday night might change some of it to snow in the mountains
