Going to be installing some Raptor Grill lights tomorrow (three), it's a homemade kit. I will be filming an install video also and adding pictures.

Would anyone be interested in a kit? Trying to see if there is any interest.

Interested, would kit be grill specific or more universal fit?

Nice looking lights, not to big and spacing fits for 4 lights. Any more info pics/video and price info would be great

I’d be willing to buy a kit. A picture of what yours came out like would be great

    Below is a photo

sorry for the delay, I was waiting to black out my grill this weekend. Also waiting on new fog light bulbs to match the headlights.

Lights connect to the headlights with a fuse tap. Working on getting the kit all dialed in so it’s an easy install. I went with amber and also looking into other options and placements for mounting

Photos below, still working on getting it all pretty aka more zip-ties and wire loom. tubing. I tapped into 15A - H-LP/DRL (Headlights on two clicks). You can run the wire pointed toward the driver side if you wanted to also

I appreciate the 1st gen write up. All other write ups I see are for the newer gens. I was able to get everything wired up and achieved illumination, but the issue I’m running into is illumination even when the headlights are off. They’re on if the ignition is on. I imagine they aren’t supposed to be unless the parking ambers are on. Unless this is some drawback that no one has ever mentioned! I’d rather not have to splice into the parking ambers...

I did this on my 16’ 4Runner. Used a fuse tap and found an open circuit in the fuse box that was on with key on. Worked perfect for over 4 years now.

The ones I have a super similar to yours Diablo, but what you’re saying is that they are intended to be on regardless of the head light switch position?

@Powderkeg yeah, I wanted them on whenever the key is on. They are bright and very visible during the day.

It sounds like I would need to tap into the power/ground of the parking lamps to achieve my desired effect. Bummer. If anyone has advice otherwise I’d appreciate it. Thanks Diablo

Honestly, I thought the same as you, but a fuse tap doesn’t mess with any of your factory wiring, and it’s protected by the original amp fuse to prevent any damage to your system. Plus those lights only draw like .1amps

How much is the kit? I would like mine to turn on with the corner lights even if the head lights are off.

While I am always respectful of anyone doing whatever they want to their rigs (the grief i have taken over yesrs for shit ive done is thick...), I just cant see myself wanting to make myself look more like a Ford. Isnt why I got a Toyota.

For this reason I suggest we start a movement in the Toyota Community to at least Rename these lights something better than "Raptor Lights" because that definitely makes it worse. Like you really wanted a Ford. They definitely arnt going away but damnit lets at least own our own name for the mod haha.

But also in seriousness they look clean and well done. Tip for dude making them- Braided Loom looks 1000% better than plastic split loom, takes less space to store, is a bit cheaper now days ive found ,and end termination looks super clean with some Shrink tube.
