275/70/18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I went with a taller tire versus a wider tire while also staying as close to manufacturer specs as possible. These tires gave me an extra 1/2” of clearance.

Like that episode of Seinfeld where Kramer test drives the car and tries to see how far past "empty" he can go, I wanted to calibrate to the fuel light on this truck. I had heard that you can take it to empty with a lot left, and sure enough that was true.

For those who are curious, once you get to zero miles of range left, the fuel light comes on.

This is the most I've ever paid for a fill-up. Turns out there was almost 5 gallons left in the tank, if it's truly a 37 gal tank. Good to know

I thought it was a 38 gallon tank, but yeah, I’ve let it go past empty before and I don’t know that it’s even taken 30 gallons to fill it back up.

Shoot your right. So fuel light came on with just under 6 gallons left.

Yeah that’s crazy, we’re trained to think we’re about to be stranded on the side of the road as soon as the light comes on but we’ve got almost 100 miles to go. But I guess there’s not really a good reason to cut it that close.

For sure, even if it was done with a duty vehicle. Did you file a police report with the MPs? I've been on several small bases, all had video surveillance.

My wife got her car smashed by some idiot in a duty van, they even tried to run but were stopped by a passersby. Bad news is, almost 1 year after sending all necessary paperwork to the office at Ft Rucker that handles it, we've heard nothing back.

Anyway, hope you catch the shitbag that did that, and hopefully they get some corrective training on top.

    Yikes.

My family lives a couple miles from that base. They’ve got a couple of Pros, there’s a lot of them in that area.

vehicles are meant to have the fuel as just that...reserve. not to be ran all the way down to "get the most out of your tank". also, the fuel pump sits within those 6 gallons or so to help keep it cool. you typically don't want to run your fuel to "0 miles left" for multiple reasons. but it's still a 38 gallon tank

yeah totally. For me it’s less about “those bastards don’t use the last 6 gallons!” And more about understanding the way this truck operates. Maybe it’s the engineer in me.

Oh hell yeah! This is definitely on my list. For me, the truck is like 75whp away from being perfect. Probably also like +10mpg, but we're not gonna talk about that...

    Magnuson provide 36 months warranty!

Kinda depends, I wouldn't do it solo, but may do it with help with the pros, still figuring it out that and available time.

20+ kits are available for order now from magnuson, but I bought this kit off a member here, I'm running d3 performance tuner , it's been great so far with my headers and gears, so I'll be using their tune as well for the s/c kit, d3 also has stage 2 tune for harrops, theres a lengthy thread in performance section discussing harrops stage 2 with d3 tune.

I like the idea of a supercharger, don't like the idea of running premium fuel, I'm a cheap ass.
