I suspect they’re going to discontinue it again, and I’ll have to wait another 34 years.

Weird. Could be a malfunction due to the mower hitting them. That said, there are devices thieves use to access the signal from your fob while it’s in your house. Quite possible you interrupted a theft. I’d honestly lean toward that being the case. It seems like fob damage would have to be really specific to trigger your remote start randomly.

You might want to get a faraday bag for your fob. @Patch999 found one a while back.

A faraday device is effective against most ghosts, at least to some degree.

there’s no apparent damage to the fob. There is a small chunk taken out of the black plastic on the ignition key,but that should not activate the starter. It’s a tech12volt starter working with the original fob. Luckily the DIrty Deeds exhaust is loud enough. Faraday bag incoming.

I have an AJT key fob.
I dropped my keys on the driveway while standing in my truck bed.
No visible damage except for one little mark.
45 minutes later, my truck cranked itself.
I was in the garage so I knew no one was in the truck.
    I cut it off.
    Weird.
    15 minutes later, same thing.
    My thought, key fob drop.
I inspected more closely with no visible signs.
Then, when just moving the key food in my hand… beep beep beep, truck cranks.
I took the key fob apart.
    No visible signs of damage.
I reassembled and it’s never happened since.
Best I could figure, it took just enough of a hit to make it happen.
Possibly forcing the button down slightly.
Anyways, maybe, try popping the fob open and putting it back together.
    Still think it’s ghosts, personally.

just to be on the safe side, check under the hood and make sure no critters have made a home.

Speaking of ghosts, I had to work in a home built in the Civil War. The home was being remoldeled and the new owners had confimed that the house was haunted by a child ghost. The ghost would turn off/on lights. Needless to say couldnt get all my guys to work there. It was an interesting project to say the least.

So i washed Mrs Slingers fob one time. Still worked after it dried out and changed the battery. Then maybe a week later she looked out at her car getting drenched in a downpour and to her horror saw that all the windows were all the way down. Only way that happened was a long pulse from the fob. Took the battery back out and left the fob in a bag of rice for at least a week. She used her spare for a long time. Eventually put the battery back in (during a drier season) and never had an issue again.
Did you get any rain while the keys were MIA?

Cigars and a little too much bourbon with some friends last night, and a customer meeting in 20 minutes. This coffee better get to it.

Definitely get 5. 4 was cool, especially with the Lego area they added on but 5 is amazing.

I don’t sleep well - I don’t know if it’s got something to do with my condition - but I usually alternate between watching tv, reading a book, or playing a game until I can’t keep my eyes open any longer. That’s why I don’t usually play online with other people with a microphone on. That, and I don’t like most people. Anyways, if I don’t I’ll lay in bed for 2 hours trying to go to sleep.

lots of frost and they were buried in leaves, which is why I mowed over them. I’ll pull the fob apart, but I’m waiting to see if it happens again.

I just went for a walk and it's 48 degrees outside. I think my d*(k is in my chest.

Nope, you're gonna need to hunker down until summer.
