Waiting nearly 2 months for shock absorber

My 2021 SR5 Crewmax has been at the dealership since the first week of October with a blown front strut which is currently under warranty. Every week I have spoken with the service advisor and every week the estimated delivery keeps getting pushed back. Current estimate is 11/17. I was told last week there was ~500 strut assemblies on back order nationwide. I am getting very tired of driving the Dodge Caravan rental.....not a good look! Any advice on a possible solution would be greatly appreciated.

 

Hit up the junkyard with that swaggerwagon! Find some used parts to throw in there while you wait.

 

Sounds like a great reason to upgrade all four corners.

 

i live in a city with 30+ tires shops and still had to drive almost 3 hours to get 4 toyo at3's. in the fall of 2021 the only thing you can depend on is everything being undependable.

 

Is this a common problem???2021 new tundie with blown struts?? Fricken brand new truck.. Huh...

They probably sold your truck and are unsure of how to tell you.

 

Get on craigslist and Facebook marketplace. entire set of shocks and struts for like 100 bucks on there with 100 miles on em.

 

Unfortunately parts delay are a HUGE issue right now with any mfg. I work at a parts dept for a dealer and trust me we have many many back orders with constant delays.

 

Time to upgrade! I have a set of icon 2.5 cdcv coil overs with remote adjustable reservoirs and billet UCA’s for sale!

 

I literally have been thinking the same thing and that's why I went to the dealership last week to talk to them. My truck is still there.

 

Thats the world we're in right now. I'm currently at month 7.5 of waiting for my Fox CO's

 

Have them get one from the factory or take one off a new truck on the lot or when one comes in.???

Not too much you can do about wait on some parts now. However, if you want to upgrade there are options that are in stock. I purchased eibach Pro truck stage 2 suspension recently, ordered it and it arrived in 2 days. Just checked their site and they still have them in stock. Machined billet top mounts, already assembled. The zinc plating on the shock bodies is quite attractive while not being gaudy, and should be excellent rust protection.

They are quite choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend them.

 

Odered them on sale today, look forward to hearing your thoughts on them!

 

Any update? Got a 21 crewmax stock suspension like new sitting in my garage located in OKC.
