    Too many, but not enough....
The sound of women tapping their long nails on stuff like car door glass or a screen when they point at stuff or on their desk. And the sound of people eating crunchy stuff. It drives me ABSOLUTELY INSANE. There may be something wrong with me.....

My ex wife’s name is Emily and her and her lawyer told me all the things she was entitled to. If I ever hear a woman tell me what she’s entitled to again I’m gonna lose it.

My response would have been "the only thing you're entitled to is my foot in your ass" so I guess it's a good thing I'm not a lawyer.

Depends on the location. Some are clean, some aren't. As the workers at such establishments become less willing to work and demand more pay I see more and more locations suffering in the cleanliness department.

The dicks at the local ecostation and whatever power trip they're on on a given day.

First time I went there, the lady at the gate says you have to go into the building first and drop off the stuff that goes in there (batteries, oil and chemicals, big items, etc.) then loop around and do all the outside stuff (cardboard, glass, metal, etc.) Ok fine. "But make sure you only drive in the left lane if you're going in the building!" Well, first of all, the lanes are just marked with a handful of cones that are way too close to the left curb. Maybe if I was the guy bringing a load of used oil and old batteries in his Miata, but in my truck? Forget it. Besides, the "lanes" just go to the end of the entrance ramp and then you're just in a wide open lot. Also, I'm literally the only person around right now. So I drive in the right lane, drop off my inside stuff, drop off my outside stuff then realize I forgot something that goes inside. Fine. Leave the facility (because of course they had to put up barriers to make sure you can't go into the building from the outside section) and loop back around to the entrance. Tell the lady I forgot something that goes inside so naturally she starts bitching about the left lane again (still no other traffic anywhere around).

Second time I go, no one at the gate to direct you. Fine, no skin off my nose not having to hear about the left fucking lane. Go inside the building and drop my stuff off. Exit the building only to find that they've rearranged it and now you have to go to the outside first; can't get there from the inside part. Fine. Leave and come back in again.

Now we have to deal with the cardboard. First time I came, I flattened all my cardboard. Turns out they have a cardboard crusher and a sign that says not to flatten your cardboard but the operator is ok with me tossing what I have in there. Next time I came, I hadn't flattened any of my cardboard so naturally the old guy running the thing decided it was too big and had to be flattened. (Figures that I forgot my knife, too and had to use my work key to slice packing tape.)
Next time I came, I had flattened the big stuff and left the small stuff intact. Nope, lady running the machine decided that was no good either. Finally, they were willing to admit that there's a bin for flattened cardboard at the complete other end of the complex, hidden behind everything else. You know, because it we made things too logical and efficient, we wouldn't be a government facility.

Also, I used to bring my batteries and small items in little boxes until they started not returning them to me. So now they look at my funny because I bring that stuff in plastic bags.

Same kind of bullshit at every dump or eco center I've been to, and then they want you to PAY for the privilege of them taking your garbage. They wonder why people just drive into the woods and chuck their crap into the ditch...

I sell what I can to scrappers (got 35 cents per pound for automotive batteries recently) and the rest just goes in the regular garbage bin. I no longer play their little game of "this goes in that bag, this goes in that bin and that stuff goes in this little box". It's all garbage. It goes in the garbage.

Recycling to me is kinda like Amtrak here in the USA.

The government got involved in something that’s a good idea in theory - said hey, let’s make it more widely available and in the process burdened the taxpayer with a bunch of unwanted and unneeded services that could not otherwise support themselves in normal times.

We spend billions “saving” the environment - and then in turn continue to buy from countries whose manufacturing processes are fueling the crisis to begin with !! How about we take those funds supporting recycling - subsidize clean manufacturing here and make our product cost competitive so that people are willing to buy it.

No - makes more sense to give some moron a green vest and litter stick and make them feel like they are “in charge” of something - even though on the power ranking charts they are just below mall security and school crossing guard.

I remember when they used to accept things like tvs/bulky items/newspaper and used tires and oil free - all because people also gave them “good” items like aluminum, glass and plastic free that they bundled and sold.

Then they started charging for furniture and tube tv’s - fine - those are big and people are gonna dump those but not contribute anything else - charge a small fee and cover your cost.

Then they started saying no oil/newspaper/plastic - it didn’t cost them anything to dispose of it really - just didn’t “make” money - WTF - this wasn’t supposed to be “for profit” - you were given the exclusive right to operate - and in exchange agreed to take whatever people gave you - good or bad, to save the planet.

We took a load of stuff from our lake lot to the dump near there (which is also near my grandparents' farm). We were expecting to get charged for it and also to have to give my grandma's name since it's supposed to be for locals only but the only thing the guy asked us about was my dad's boat, which he'd left just outside the gate.

I miss the good old days of walking the ditch line from my house to the store and picking up empty bottles on the way. Got to turn those in for my free Pepsi. I also miss cleaning up after parties all the glass and cans and going to the grocery store for cold hard cash to spend on more Beer.
Today I'm paying the City to pick up my mandatory Recycle Bin. They will REFUSE to dump the Bin if it looks like a dirty hamburger wrapper is in there. Leave a nasty note and a full Bin. Lazy Rat Bastards.

When dude in his Sentra tries to beat me off the line at a red - after having seen my signal on and knowing I would be changing lanes shortly.

Like - seriously, you think your gonna beat me in a Tundra with that thing ?

Also people who don’t understand continuous right turn only lanes at a light. There are 3 lanes - one fed by the right turn only that had no light - 2 straight are controlled by the light.

Idiots either pull halfway through their right turn and stop waiting for the light on the straight lanes - or come down the middle lane straight and lay on their horn like you turning right into the first lane is wrong. The solid white line is there for a reason jackass - it’s to indicate the existence of another entirely separate lane from the one you are traveling in !!

Don’t get me started on round about’s either - simplest damn thing in the world to understand if you can understand a picture in the sign - yet completely confounds these rednecks.

    All over SoCal
    Vehicle:
    The darkest
    It's really dark
It really isn't uncommon. When I was a service plumber it turned me off from eating at so many places. You get a backstage pass to any given restaurant and the things you see will leave you trying to force a grimace to a smile when you're done and the manager happily hands you a free meal. I would usually give those hot meals to homeless in the area.

Biggest offender was usually ice machines. For some reason they often have their drain tube down in the floor sink instead of being cut a few inches above. When the mainline gets backed up at the grease trap those floor drains fill up and the ice machines get the nasty stuff sent up. Most restaurants are on good schedule to get the grease trap pumped but don't want to pay the extra to jet their drain lines routinely. Between grease, food bits, and whatever gets swept into floor drains, drain backups are frequent.
