How much did the shell re-paint run you? Can I PM you about it if you don't want to share here? I've given up on finding a color matched shell, but several ones have shown up for my DC that are either the wrong color or the clear coat is peeling. Just thinking about the total investment.

Got these back today. I think they came out pretty great. I need to flip the lenses and bezels and mount them up.

My buddy and I worked on the build. The off-the-shelf parts are Baja Squadron SAEs fogs and fog light blanks from eBay. The baffle is the custom 3D printed piece.

A couple more night shots. Got them installed. The fit is pretty clean with the fog light blanks. I like them.IMG_7025.jpgIMG_7026.jpgIMG_7028.jpg

I had a company in Houston, Texas retrofit Bi-LED by Morimoto for my 2002 Toyota Tundra SR5 AC TRD. Clean cut off line with very good coverage. Had them for 8 months and no issues so far. I recommend them for doing the job. They have the experience to retrofit any type of headlights.

Edit: added pictures with low beam, fog lights, and high beam. I will try to upload some in the future to show the distance that the high beam can reach I did not have time tonight to go somewhere to do that.

So I see the Morimoto’s also have that purple at the cutoff line. Anybody have or know of any retro’s that don’t have that? or is that just how they all are?

That’s how projectors are. Color shift at the ends of the focal point

I think you actually have to ALSO get rid of them to call them flips…:boink:

is that only aftermarket retrofit projectors? Ive never noticed it in newer cars that come with factory projectors. I really like the brightness and sharp cutoff but that purple bugs the shit outta me.

What’s up with those 3D printed parts? Can I order a pair? Fitment looks A1

Got new headlights today. Clear corners with amber bulbs. Headlights are from eBay. Figment was good, need to seal them with silicone this weekend.

Can anyone think of something useful I could do with my OEM rubber mats? Can these be repaired? Or is it time to recycle them?

Also, what do we do about the bulbs in our bezels? White LED’s? I’m sure I’m the last to this party.

I’ve replaced mine with 194 and 74 sized white LEDs. I also tried green but they don’t match the hue. The white ones are very bright, but dimmable. I wish it wasn’t such a chore to replace the instrument cluster lights on my ‘06, but I think if you have an older one, you can also replace most of those too to match.

One fuse and my cargo light is back in action! Woohoo. So stoked. Now those VLED bulbs and I can swap in the new chmsl and wire up a bypass for when the shell is on. And also obtain cargo signal for relay use for bed lights.

    man I love truck time.

For the shell you can just tap into the driver tail lights no need to bypass anything
