Just Fluid Filmed the beast! Stuff is pretty sweet! Used a spray gun off Amazon and a gallon of Fluid Film black. I was surprised how clean it went on and barely got on me or the driveway. Just filled my spray gun cup up and heated it up a little with a heat gun. Used about a little over 3/4 of the gallon. Didn’t have time to take a lot of pics. Tac’d out my spray gun with a flashlight!
Felt bad hitting my new pretty Dobinsons springs and shocks but it’ll help them last I guess.

Does it dry or remain greasy like the regular aerosol stuff? Does it burn off the exhaust piping?

    Nice GS!

Looks like you got just about everything. I'm hoping you were careful around rubber bits, as fluid film can cause it to swell. Bushings and such are something to avoid if possible.

It's best to avoid spraying it on anything that gets hot. Not sure it will catch fire, but it will definitely smell.

I haven't noticed any issues with rubber swelling in about 5 years of use, but that's only 5 years service time. At this point though, the rust is so bad on my wife's 6 year old Mazda 3 that the bushings look like they'd be on their way out even if we weren't using fluid film.

Definitely want to avoid spraying on hot stuff, like exhaust parts, but mainly because of smell and it will stain the steel after a few heat cycles. No concerns about things like gearboxes though. I'd avoid moving parts like pulleys on the engine though, and the engine entirely...

But don't forget the brake lines near the ABS unit in the engine bay! Those are surprisingly coated in salt on every one of our vehicles.

It stays greasy I believe……my first time using it. Yeah it’s hard to avoid the exhaust with the overspray and it did smoke/cook off and I can still smell it on day 3. Someone told me it takes about a week to go away.
Thanks, that’s my main travel vehicle to work as long as the roads aren’t icy and when I can get time to take the wife out on a ride!

    Looks good.
I did Corrosion Free this year, first time doing any undercoating. I was careful not to spray directly on exhaust etc, but it definitely got on with overspay and smelled for a couple weeks of the little driving I do.

It's all gone now. A week of normal driving should get rid of it.

It's just a caution that is on Fluid Film cans and such.

Probably a couple hours. Used a floor jack to get one side up high so I could crawl under…..a lift would be so nice. I also had to remove my cat converter anti-theft plate, so that took a little time. I didn’t take off my front skid plate and am debating if I should to get back under there and remove it. I sprayed what I could see into that underside from the back of the skid plate and figured it protected most of that area. I don’t think there is much else, just engine. I dunno.
Next year I’ll probably put the whole truck up on jackstands and take both plates off and maybe wrap the exhaust in old sheets or something.

I just ordered this, is it best to tape off the exhaust and such? Or just try to avoid direct hits, seems like the over-spraying will be messy.

It’s not as bad as I thought but it still gets hit with some spray. Next year I’ll probably wrap some of the exhaust in some pieces of old sheets and/or use a big piece of cardboard to hold against the exhaust as I spray.

I have never covered exhaust. It burns off quick. Did you take the wheel well liners off? I bought a big bag of fasteners off Amazon after my first time taking out liners. Much easier to break them off than try to reuse them. I take wheels off to do this. I try to spray twice a year. One thorough application, and one touch up. I also like to get a couple aerosol cans and an extra long straw to get in doors. I also like to spray heavy in the frame rail, and drop the spare to get under it and the tire lowering mechanism, and the spare rim.

Nice man! I didn’t get that detailed since it was my first time using it. I was more worried about the gun working and how messy it might get. Next year I’m definitely gonna get it up on jack stands, take the wheels and skid plates off and cover a lot more area and get into the frame. Thanks for the ideas!

It’s addictive, and oddly satisfying. Somehow I have grown to enjoy the smell. Haha

I just got a gallon of woolwax and the spray gun is on the way. I couldn’t decide between FF and woolwax. I’ve use less FF before in spray cans and figured I’d try woolwax this time. I’ll admit the smell of FF was a factor. I’ll have to report back on how it applies.

Wow, never saw that before…..looks amazing!
I had Cyclops LED bulbs in the bike when I bought it and one burnt out so I just put some Amazon LED bulbs in there pretty bright, that Mattgecko is a whole other level. Speaking if upgrades, have you seen this?

Totally transforms your bike!! Better throttle response, keeps bike rich, more power……just awesome!!!
