Ohhhhh I think I'd entertain another fun internet bet then. Over/Under for Hybrid at $4,500? I'll gladly take the under.

You forgot transport fees, so closer to $71K fully loaded with hybrid (assuming $3k)

Yeah I'm aware. No other manufactures advertise MSRP with destination charge added so I tend to not as well when talking about MSRP. It's going to be $1,700 no matter what new large vehicle you buy right now.

Yea... they arent going to charge double what it costs to get a hybrid in the rest of the line for the tundra. It will be $2k-3,200 max. If they were smart they would price it at $2k and CRANK them out the door.

I predict the iForceMax option in the Limited will be $5,000 minimum. However knowing Toyota it will be part of a package with some other equipment.

The Plartinum, and 1794 might get it cheaper due to those trucks already probably having the added package content.

The iForceMax adds a battery, and electric motor generator and clutch assembly, high voltage lines, control unit, cooling system for the hybrid, and a different rear axle. I can see that easily costing $5K.

For $80k the Denali Ultimate and F150 Limited are a lot better than what the Capstone will probably be in every aspect. They would sell very little at that price point and they know it.

A spring spacer doesn't change the pre-load if its added to the top (or bottom). The weight of the truck is the same.

I disagree, if the capstone has the Lx interior quality, 4 corner air ride and full time 4wd. I would opt for it over the denali or f150 limited. Although I'm not in that market.

All the rest of the Toyota hybrids are different in concept and operation than the Tundra though.

Toyota seems quite happy to charge more for the new Tundra and offer less relative value than the competition. Don’t be surprised when they do the same for the iForceMax.

For the record, I will be quite happy if I’m wrong.

assuming the down travel isnt limited then you would be correct. But they are like it is in the front coil overs. Not sure what limits down travel in the rear but I’m sure they don’t rattle around loose at full droop. So when you add a spacer you have to compress the spring some making for a more stiff ride. This is why quality lifts don’t come with spacers they come with longer springs.

I would bet Toyota doesn't add any one of those though.

I tend to agree with that, but given the new shared platform it is more reasonable now for Toyota to share options between models than in the past.

Except bronze/gold has always been way better looking for wheels than black. Bronze like a real magnesium alloy vintage racing wheel = awesome.

Buddy of mine has a new 2021 F150 Limited and the ride quality is pretty harsh for such an expensive truck. I haven't been in a newer Denali to compare. The interior of the Limited is not as nice as I thought it would be, it wouldn't be hard for Toyota to at least match it with the Capatone.

It’s been talked about on a few websites from rumors at Toyota. It’s definitely going to be $70,000 plus.

Yes new taller springs would be the way to go. But the lift kit Toyota is selling for almost $4000 has spacers for the rear.

From SEMA last week, I was told verbally by a Toyota rep that the Capstone would have Lexus level interior finishes and prices similar to Denali Sierra and Platinum F150.

so a platinum tundra which is 8-10k more than the current one and hits 67k isn’t Lexus level?

    Lol ok

Believe me or not, I don't care. But if you think the interior of the 2022 Platinum Tundra is Lexus level, I'm not sure you've been in the current LS500 or paid much attention to the LX600 that was just released. I would guess the LX600 finishes are similar to what we will see in the Capstone Tundra.

This guy is a former Toyota engineer who has been very accurate on his Tundra predictions overall. 3:16 in, he discusses Capstone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rah-kjYXRvQ

Not really my point. None of us have been in a platinum tundra yet but my point was for that much it should be Lexus level already

but either way I won’t buy one, way too much chrome and way too much money

it will be interesting what they will do and it’s curious they would delay a whole trim , especially if it’s the flagship

Fair enough. I think Toyota thinks they can compete and capture a ton more margin/profit by moving into Denali and Platinum range and I agree with them that they will sell a ton of Capstone Tundras and when it comes out Sequoia's.
