Opinion from an old man with a beard

Exactly we are Men, Ladies, and a few animals. If we can’t handle a little black eye or a knock down then go somewhere else. I wanna hear the raw dirty dark truth and if to get the truth the person shares how they really feel then so be it. When your paying $45,000 and now $60,000 for a truck plus include the dam taxes (additional $5,000 ). And If it becomes a disappointment purchase then i get it. It truly is a lot of money to invest and not be completely or mostly satisfied.. Heck i had a free puppy when I was little and that dog was perfect well manured, obedient, and all around great. However, my next Dog (same breed) i bought with money$$$ and that silly rascal was a piece of work he was ok but with much disappointment heck he wouldn’t even eat out of the dog bowl he always had to dump it and eat off the floor….

Anyway, i enjoy the bashing, pounding, and fights to get the truth as long as we are all friends. And shit if my feelings get hurt i can always go to therapy, try some harmonic balancing, maybe some collective psychic energy focus, or more yoga, and maybe even stroke the crystals to release my tension. I am positive I will be up to snuff in no time.

Now can we get back to the Tundra and some truck stuff ………..

My guess is it's going to basically be a Lexus truck. Or it could be like the Denali X or whatever they are calling it that contains some semi self driving features, although I haven't seen anything about Toyota or Lexus having anything like that in production right now.

I don't think toyota has anything else to throw at this. it will just be a chrome version of the platinum for those who dont want the western style truck

either that or it wont come out at all and it was just some pre-production bs

Is it just me or are black wheels starting to get old? It seems like every manufacturer is putting black wheels on every model. Black wheel are starting to be the majority of what vehicles are running. In my area winter snow tires on black steel wheels is a common thing. Maybe a little bit of chrome isn't such a bad thing? :D

I think it has to have something that is a big change over the other models, like plug in hybrid.

Yeah I’m thinking it’s got to be something to make it stand out. They mentioned it being kind of a Lexus type of upgrade to compete with the Denali. Doesn’t look too chromed.

Same here. The last new car I got for myself was a 2010 Mustang in Grabber Blue at 19% interest when I came home from Iraq. I’ve been smarter with my money (thanks to my wife being very good at budgeting and saying no). I’ve always wanted a truck and this is the nicest one I’ve seen that can also support my hobbies.

A few things I came up with: Quilted leather seats, rear heated and ventilated seats, an actual premium sound system (JBL is a joke).

A plug in a possibility but I doubt they would only offer that on the top trim. I don't think Toyota has any fully autonomous driving system yet and I don't think they really care too much about it.

If they killed a great storage area under the rear seat for a REGULAR hybrid, the much larger battery needed for a plug-in might take away the REST of the back seat!

My guess is the tune from the Lexus LX, plug in hybrid option, lexus grade interior, premium sound, really really nice suspension/ ride, self driving features.

I thought it was just heated but I may be wrong. I'll look into it.

Edit: Yep, I stand corrected. Idk how much more they can even add to a Capstone lol

Total power output around 500hp and 640lb-ft.

Lexus quality interior, and audio system.

Air ride on all 4 corners.

    $80K MSRP.

Watch the bed be reduced down to 4.5', haha. If they swap from the NiMH to Li-ion that should save some space however for a plug in hybrid the battery will have to be significantly larger so probably under the cab or bed somewhere.

I would also possibly throw in some kind of enhanced cruise/driveability like the Denali Ultimate. Not necessarily drive itself, but truck will park itself, backup to trailer automatically like Ford, etc.... I don't think they will go as far as Tesla or GMC Denali Ultimate, but I bet they get into that realm eventually.....

Toyota isn't going to be making an $80k truck. I would also be surprised if they redid the entire interior for one trim. Wouldn't be a smart business decision at all.

Fully optioned 1794’s are going to easily hit over $70K with the iForceMax.

$80K isn’t much of a stretch from there.

Preload on the coil springs. Sweers pointed out the rear coils are progressive-rate springs, which is a good thing IMO. You put a spacer on though the softer ride from the first few inches of travel is gone and you're on the stiffer section of the spring.

Seems like a nice kit for the front, meant to get 35's on with no rubbing. Rear is basic spacer, aftermarket will have lift coils for the rear fast instead of a spacer lift. Actual lift coils may need extended brakelines, we'll see how that pans out.

I’m looking forward to this. They should be very easy to swap out and much more affordable then new leaf packs.

Won't have lithium if they're still going to vent it into the cabin from under the seats. At least, not if you want to sell any. It's one thing for under the floor, inside the cabin with lithium? Hell no. I would consider a plug in tundy at some point with some new tech which doesn't involve lithium but not when you have a nasty toxic air-reactive chemical inside the cabin.

With a million dealer accessories sure, but those come from the dealer not Toyota. Fully optioned 1974 non-hybrid from the factory is $66,115 ($60,690 base + $1,645 Advanced Package + $290 Tow Mirrors + $2,140 Off-Road Package + $1,350 Power Running Boards). Assume $3k for hybrid to come out to be around $69,115. I don't see Toyota making another $10k MSRP jump with Capstone. Especially when the only changes I see them making are new quilted leather seats with massaging function and some fancy chrome on the outside.

Maybe you are right, but judging by Toyota’s new enthusiasm for high cost low value pickups I expect the iForceMax to be no less than a $5K up charge. I expect Toyota to give the Capstone more power, fancier suspension, full time 4 wheel drive, and a fancier interior. Then they can make a few of them and charge $80K per unit.
