My 2021 SR5 TRD is looking nicer and nicer by the day.
I added a front end lift, a few factory options, a few console options, a Re-Trax cover, a bed extender and still stayed under 55k.

Air Stream resale pricing won't change a bit.
Those puppies are re-selling better than Tundras.

well for all you people complaining about hp, ford will be offering a supercharger for the 14th gen F150 v8 coyote engine that bumps specs to 700hp/590ftlbs, up from 400hp/410ftlbs

The cheapest V8 F-150 is a rear-wheel-drive, two-door XL with a six-foot bed. Before incentives, but after the $1,995 V8 option, that’s a $31,285 truck. Add in ten grand for the supercharger, and you’ve got seven hundred horsepower for just $41,285

I owned a 2013 F150. That was/is one of the more reliable years, but I started having issues with it (MPG started tanking; running rough, etc.) before I hit 100K miles. That was stock, no mods at all. If I'm not mistaken post-2018 the reliability of the 5.0L's tanked a bit due to a slight change in the way they manufactured the engine; I'm not sure I'd want to SC or turbo that engine. (Not without beefing it up.)

the idea of an engine breaking down internally under just 100k miles is scary. I had a coworker who had a f150. Not sure what year or engine but he had to buy a new engine at 60k miles out of pocket when it started breaking down.

You're assuming that return is guaranteed, it's not. Yes, you may make 30% on that money in a market like we're in now but it could turn overnight and lose 60% of your money like in 2008. If that happens you'll be wishing you'd paid cash for the truck instead.

Anybody can crow about being a financial genius in a bull market. Some people don't want the risk, only time will tell whether they're right or you are.

I would say over half a century of double digit growth is a pretty safe bet. And remember, you only lose money if you pull it out. If someone is financially disciplined enough to not go into debt or pay off debt, then they are disciplined enough to invest and let their money make them money.

Best investors are dead people and folks who have no idea its there. Time in the market always outperforms timing the market.

    Correct.

Also for those worried about short term loss of theoretical value in a bear market, you miss the huge opportunity a bear market poses for the unafraid and disciplined long term investor.

A bear market or a recession where you are otherwise secure in your job and able to invest = buying at a discount.

I eagerly await the next big 1/2 off sale on stocks!

I have one on order. Lariat Ultimate package with LED's, , upfitter switches, heated steering wheel, dual battery, adaptive cruise and no sunroof and will be about $62.5k. There are at least two ford dealers doing 2 and 3% under invoice on orders. Got a price today from a Md dealer on a Lunar Pro---$66k!!!

SR5 Crewmax w/ sport pkg if able to get at $51k-ish, otherwise, my frugal self will have to settle for a regular SR5.

Quite a jump as I currently drive a 2.7L Tacoma SR, which was $27k OTD.

I dont think the price increase is too bad with the added content. I pulled out the window sticker for my '18 2wd dc sr5 and msrp was $38,689.

Am I the only one feels like the inflationary prices of the industry (and Toyota with this release) actually give Toyota an advantage?

I have to figure out something in May when my lease expires, and if the market is still in it's current state, I will feel more compelled to go with Toyota than another manufacturer. This wasn't the case when I originally leased my Tundra. I considered it a stop gap until GM updated their interiors and I was able to buy my "dream truck" with a baby max.

Why Toyota now? Simply because the massive incentives and discounts that have always accompanied the big three are non existent. Now, don't take this the wrong way, but I have always considered "resale value" a bit of a farce when it comes to the Tundra. Mathematically, sure. The Tundra retains a higher value of it's MSRP after xx amount of years compared to the domestics. However, residual value is based off MSRP and not sale price. It doesn't take into account the dude who bought the Ram during truck month (which in Utah runs from Jan to Dec) got 12K off. So yes, your 50K Tundra is valued at 40K in three years and his Ram is worth 32K, but you bought your Tundra for 48K and he bought his 50K Ram for 40K. Both party's value decrease by about the same out of pocket giving no real additional value to the Tundra other than resale value bragging rights.

Until now that is. Right now is where the Tundra has a real world resale advantage with everything selling for sticker price. Even if (and when) the market collapses and corrects, you are losing less than if you were to buy one of the big three with minimal discounts. If you absloutely have to have a new truck now, there has never been a better time to go with Toyota over the competition, even if the escalated prices are frustrating.

Exact reason why I started looking for a tundra earlier this year. And why I bought the wife the rav4 prime. I don't know when the old big 3 discounts come back, but believe they will.

My other option I've been thinking about a base maverick, there probably only a grand or 2 to move on that in normal times so may pick one up and wait it out

What added content do you mean that actually justifies a $3600 price increase from a 2021 base model to a 2022 base model. What does a 2022 base have that is worth $3600 more? Not to mention that you can't even deal on these trucks. So, its probably more like $5-8k more. My current truck is less OTD than the base 2022 with out all the add-ons.

Not really. I wasn't planning on purchasing one, but local dealer is selling @ MSRP and is willing to pay me $2K more than I paid for my truck almost 2 years ago...so we'll see what happens when they start delivering '22's.

Your smoking some good stuff. You can't get a TRD Pro now at 63, you really think you'll get an all new one for that? 1794 non hybrid is 62. Based on how the others are priced I don't see how they list them under 70, which IMO won't be worth it.

Nope did I say that, I said MSRP would be around 63k not including dealer options and ADM would be 70k+ for sure. I could be wrong the hybrid could be 5000 option which brings it to 65k. TRD pro is based off limited trim
