Little Police Academy humor. Might be before your time.....but with a name of Mahoney, can't resist.

I know he saw the threat before we did on the body cam but I still had to slow it down to .25 to see. I always watch police activity on u tube.

A little this and that...Broke now
plus the time it takes to see and identify shoot/no shoot roughly 3/4 of a second..then react another 3/4 sec or so..The only way to get faster is training and Indeed countless reps.. unholster.. address the threat till its handled.. scan for additional threats.. get your blood pressure under control..Good on the officer get some! He just made it home to his family that day!

I watched that but still don't know what the hell happened? He came after him and the officer shot him in the hand or shot him after he was running away

I think the passenger side approach helped. Not sure what the officer processed but when he was at the passenger door you could see bro turned around trying to find the officer with some purpose. That's a red flag.

2 shots fired. One struck the door panel, the other struck the suspect.

I know the deputy from the vid. Have worked accidents with him many times. Glad to hear he was OK before all of this came out. It happened on a Friday afternoon on a motorist assist. I came out Saturday AM and my first call of the day . . . motorist assist  Lucky for me, was just an older lady that just needed help changing her tire.

Fucking crazy. What was the guy trying to do? Knock the cop out with the but of his gun because he ran out of bullets in whatever firefight happened before that resulted in bullet holes in the passenger door?

Good muscle memory. Dam glad I am done dealing with the looser thugs and illegal drugs and $$$ of society. Put more in the Federal pen than I can count.

This thug was very lucky he did not receive a lawful justified double tap.

Not gonna second guess the LEO, God Bless you brother, watch your six.

Whats amazing to me too, is that here in Douglas County there has been silence on the shooting. No riots, protests, complaints of excessive use of force . . . nothing. County is VERY supportive of our deputies which is awesome.

The suspect prob didn't have any choice, it looked like an AR to me so it probably jammed :crapstorm:. This is exhibit A why I could never be a LEO, much respect to you guys who are. How many times did he tell that guy to get on the ground?? He MIGHT have gotten the command twice from me and his ass would have been ventilated.

I've watched this video a couple of times, and based SOLELY on the video, I'm not sure I would have quit pulling the trigger

I know it's probably easier to see through eyeballs than a camera lens, but even after the initial confrontation and shots, and the guy is kneeling down, it looks like he keeps putting his right hand out of sight...i'd argue easily that he's already attacked me with a rifle...what's he reaching for now? a pistol? a knife?

Great job by the officer recognizing the threat, reacting quickly, and then holding what he had for backup units

I know. No way in hell I have that reaction time. But then again, LEOs are open carry and I'm not. So I got clothes to deal with.

He probably already had hand on pistol after coming up to the passenger side window.

Still great reaction time and restraint.
