I've had that happen a few times, after picking my bike up three times in one day, I was the one that needed a nap.

I bet. That KTM is not light, and even with proper technique, it's not gonna be fun to stand up multiple times.

It was a real grunt, for sure. I was having a hard time getting traction to stand it up. Took a few attempts.

I love that people on this forum get the jokes!

In all seriousness, I'm just not in the market for a big bike. First bike I ever had was a Honda VTX1300 and that was just way too big for my utter lack of skill/experience. Kinda put me off bikes. Now that I want to give it a go again, I want to do it proper.

@AzureNightmare. Like sirfive I ride Buell, and have for many years.
I know you said you weren't wanting anything used, but if you change your mind and do go that route... And if you're looking for something smaller, simple, fun to ride, that will take a beating, and save you some coin, you could pick up a used blast and throw some knobby street tires on it.
They are great beginner bikes, and tough as nails, and simple. No chain, so no lube or adjustment needed, single cylinder 500cc air cooled, push rod engine. And great for a shorter rider,as it's not a tall bike at all.
I believe some H-D dealerships used them for rider education in training beginner riders, when they were still affiliated with Buell.
I rode one that belonged to a friend and really liked the damn thing. So l plan to pick one up and do a few modifications, stud up the tires, turn it into a ice racer for ice racing next winter, I think it will compete well.
    Screenshot_20211106-200854~3.jpg

Here's a pic I found online of a blast with on/off road tires.

The fact that anyone rides is a thumbs up with me.
Doesn't matter what it is......almost, just that they have the need for two wheels, not four.
I have this saying I've told people for years; "Four wheels moves your body, two wheels moves your soul."

2 years ago I would have disagreed with that last line, but I'm being pulled back toward the 2 wheels, so I wouldn't have known what I was talking about. :notsure:

When its time to put in some miles. My 1200 ADV with the wife's 800GS in the background.

When its time to disappear. The trail bikes, in back is the "Willing Accomplice" KTM 250 XCFW. Light enough, yet powerful enough to go anywhere. My favorite single track scouting and hunting bike. In front is the TW200, primarily used to get game back out on those single tracks. I've brought deer out on the KTM, but I didn't enjoy it......

It’s a blast of a bike, total hooligan ride. Low and mid range torque is great! Don’t buy one if you’re looking for any sort of gas mileage, it’s nickname is empty-10. If you tune it, it’s even worse, LOL!

Be careful, looks like they may be dry rotted to me. Just ditched a set of Pirelli Diablo IIIs with a manufacture date of mid-2014 and plenty of life tread-wise because of this. I like to ride aggressive and corners felt sketchy. Went with Battleax S22s and couldn't be happier.

I look at my chicken strips and think, yep I'm ok with being a chicken cuz I have no interest in going farther on the street. An I can't get away from the michelin pilot road 4's and 5's. Best tire IMO

    It is.
Not hooked to anything, but a photo-op. But it would be cool to start a company that monitors traffic and ‘marks’ the dillweeds that are worth avoiding. If you see a car with 1 mark, dude probably wasnt paying attention at the wrong time. If you see a car with a dozen, you know these people are oblivious to their surroundings, and should be avoided.

@AzureNightmare thanks for making the distiction. This is not a live gun. Its wedged in without any trigger or air. And im just not that kinda guy. Live and let live.
