    Function before sparkle.
It’s my best choice right now. Was hoping to find a Canadian supplier so I don’t get hit with extra fees.

For the rear window switch, did any of y'all get the Accessorides harness, or is there someone on the forum making something similar? Also did the 44" have room to spare? I'm going to put the switch against the vertical surface just under the console door latch, so it'll need a few more inches in length. TIA.

12volt.solutions offers one as well: https://www.12volt.solutions/produc...a-power-rear-window-switch-relocation-harness

I DIY'd mine but would not recommend going that route. The stock harness location and the size of the wires are both a bitch to deal with.

Lol, they're both good - Tech12volts is James' company that was (still is?) active on here. 12volt.solutions does more of the remote start-type stuff, not really audio. I think they're located nearby James' shop and he says they work together sometimes and are good people.

Yeah, he definitely is. I know he said he's dealt with them before and I'm probably misremembering the shop location part. Just looked at their site and they are in Tulsa. Definitely not near James' shop lol.

All of the switches I moved I made my own harnesses. I figured there would be a hole in the console now, so going back to stock wouldn’t happen. This is one of those mods that would be passed on upon selling.

For most of my “custom” wiring in cars I use Ethernet cable. I contains 8 pairs of wire which are similar in gauge to the factory gauge. And for the slightly thicker wires I pair up a set of wires in the cable. Use of this style wire is nice because they are all contained in a single sealed loom.

See, I don't think to do shit like that - - I guess I've been fully drowned in the idea that we're in a throw-away economy so much that I can't ask for something different than what's on the (virtual) shelf. tys.

saw your earlier posts.. you may want to pull apart the console and see if you will even have room to mount the switch where you are considering. The depth of the rear window switch is slightly over 3" plus the harness sticking out the back. there may simply not be enough room to mount it in the count just below the lid like you were wanting to do.

I know at best I'll need to cut up the inside of the console. The safe is one of those that only takes up half the space in the console box, and I really don't use the rest of that space for much. There may be other structural or wiring problems back there that foil the plan, but hopefully the window switch, a FRAC switch, and maybe a switch for nukyaler power / nannies-off could go in that spot, in the 3-gang switch panel @RainMan_PNW pointed me toward a few weeks ago. I kinda want to hide the HU input USB inside there, too, to get it out of the way and cleaner looking for the AAWireless dongle or a USB with music on it. We'll see. We're out of 90° days in Texas, and I'm flush with PTO I can't sell back to the company, so if I can't get it done by Christmast it's my own damned fault.

just a piece of advice before you start cutting the console, measure again. These factory switches are deep.

it might be worth it for you to purchase the shifter surround with the business card tray (like the SR5) and the printed panel from @abomb60 to ensure a less frustrating install.

I also haven't really measured the little 3-gang panel properly to see if it'll even fit in the space. I don't think I'd like the looks of it if I have to cut it in a way that's visible. It might fit, but it likely has snaps on the back that hold it in its normal place in the dash, and the snap supports are obviously missing from the console, so I'll have to jury rig some way to hold it in place solid enough to support the switches. Lots could go wrong. A new shifter bezel and @abomb60 's panel is plan B, for sure.

Second attempt at this went much better than the first. No runaway Dremel accidents lol.

Ended up getting another console piece from McGeorge and was able to get a clean cut and install. Thanks again for all the help in this thread!
