The best thing to do, a little off-roading!

Nice, I've had mine a few months now with no issues. I will say if you got the rear camera option the quality is pretty terrible on it though. I did the hard wire option with an add-a-fuse and no issues with battery drainage. I got it for peace of mind.

Nice. I always liked red accents on Stormtroopers.

It does retain steering controls, this one was made for out gen tundras. Basically all plug and play. So far I like it and zero issues with my speaker set up from *********.

It is made by Dongar Technologies (Google). I purchased mine from Amazon, but they are not available. You can buy it direct from the Dongar website. Toyota 12-pin adapter. Good luck!

I've been so busy working on this truck the last 30 days. It's really been a transformation.
I think I might create a build log here soon .

The lastest work has been paint correction.. the joys of owning a black truck.
After 13 dedicated hours I have this truck looking better than it came from the factory.
Even as it sits now it's not the level I'd like but it's difficult to justify that much work knowing soon it will inevitably be blemished.
If it was a show vehicle I'd take a step further to get all the orange peel out, but I'm really happy with it as is.

I topped it off with ceramic coating.

Did a little electric upgrade. X2 Power AGM battery (made by Northstar) from Batteries Plus, and some SDHQ terminals.
My old ( 4k miles) stock battery was fine and way under warranty, but from reading around hear they suck. And being under warranty still means you're getting stranded if it fails.
I had another X2 battery in my Silverado go over 5 years in the Arizona heat. Only replaced it a few months ago for peace of mind.

The SDHQ terminals are very well built, beefy, and look great, but, they are pricey for what you get. Maybe as I add components they'll prove more useful. They shipped super fast and I had them in 2 days.

Did the rear window switch relocation mod. Super easy mod and well worth it to have the switch in a more convenient location.

Looks good. I’d definitely get over the idea of removing the orange peel in factory clear though. A show car would have 5 to 10 times the mil thickness of clear to begin with. Plenty of room to flatten things out. Our clear is only about as thick as the orange peel. A razor thin line between flat and burned through.

I did try that - crazy thing they spun free and quiet with the belt off - squeaked with it on. Cleaning pulleys didn’t help - replaced alternator and everything is back to normal.

Made use of the 2nd quarter of Cowboys v Broncos today, way easier than I thought as I was scared to death to pry my brand new dash apart. AC/Heat Knobs, Stereo Knobs and black out rings for vents. Ordered them earlier this week and were hear in days, great delivery time. IMG_0294.jpg

Old tip I got from a mechanic years ago. Take broom off of handle, place one end against suspected part ( valve cover, engine block, ac compressor, etc...) , Hold the other end of the broom handle with just your pinky ring fingers and palm, place your ear against your thumb and index finger on the hand holding the handle.
You have just built a red neck stethoscope. You will be able to listen to individual injectors, valves and main bearings if accessable.
Dowel rods also work good, best not to use metallic objects, although socket extensions and screwdrivers work fine you can get a shock if you ground out something.
After the divorce I had to get a new handle, the ex is still flying around on the original.
If you're vertically challenged you can cut the handle for ease of use.

I finally relocated the highlift jack to the driver side. This allowed me room to install the second swing case. I also found this little polyurethane part online that is supposed to get rid of the rattle from your highlift jack. So I just made one out of a chunk of wood and put a couple pieces of rubber door insulation between it. This pinches the mechanism, and eliminates the rattles. Worked great! I also have rattles coming from both swing cases, which after some research, I found I’m missing the rubber bumpstops that go between the brackets, as I got them used. A trip to the hardware store should fix that right up on a different day.
