    I'm not sure what that image is showing. The left side looks like swelling, but the right side and nose look like they may have fractures? Either way, OUCH!

    It cracked the triple trees and bent one of the forks. Shattered all the plastics, and folded one of the clip-ons down. And put a ding in the tank.

    Apparently i crawled to a neighbors house and banged on their door. And was angry towards everyone including the cops and ems. They took me to ben taub in houston who looked at me and said, ‘is he a donor?’. So my mom pitched a fit and had me life-flighted to memorial herman, and the guy said we’ll put some pins in his skull, but no promises. I woke up with a helluva hangover 3 days later, and spent a couple weeks doing memory tests, because i woke up normal. At least i hope… who knows, i could be a vegetable with a vivid imagination.

    i fixed the bike with jy parts and was back on it before the stitches had come out.

    I dont recommend going that far, but i do believe everyone needs to have a near-death experience. Im a whole new person now. I dont even recognize who i was before ‘09. I wont say im wiser, but im not on auto pilot anymore.

    Everyone who has them seems to have some kind of revelation of one sort or another. I'm not really seeking anything like that. I generally do my best not to tempt fate, and I will settle for a plain old death experience vs the near kind. :rofl:

    In the olden days in a Cycle World story I once read;

    "In motorcycling you dress for the fall and not for the ride."

    Sage advice there . . .

    Piss missle is back together. Battleax S22s on, BMC air filter installed, and I reverse engineered Woolich's retail flash to my specs. I wish I could post videos here because the Akra headers/slip on purring at 8k+ RPMs is fucking insane.

    Edit: if ya have a TikTok, @katzdoingthings just posted a 10k revbomb after the reflash.

    Sold my MT-09 yesterday. I cried when the guy rode away on my 848 back in 2016, I watched this dude drive off with the MT in his truck and was like ‘whatever’ and went inside. Wasnt doing it for me.
    Test riding another Diavel S and trying one of the small Multistradas. Currently in that ‘I don’t know what style bike I want’ phase. Spent 15 years on sport bikes but my wrists and back are shredded from flying, that and I wasnt a fan of the Panigale and will never find my 848 again (not that id want it back flogged after 5 years)

    No point in having a toy you don't enjoy playing with, right? I'm too much of a noob to offer any kind of suggestion on what to look at. Hell, the one I'm wanting is a jack of all trades, master of none kind of bike that goes, but goes nowhere fast. It's the most basic all rounder there is, so my taste is likely too bland for a sport bike junky.

    You have any pics of your previous bikes? Just because, you know... :worthless:

    Nice! Quite the collection there. With experience on various types you should be pretty comfortable on whatever bike you decide on. If you want some dirt and road stuff, I'd say check out the adventure bikes like the Yamaha Tenere 700, or if you want more ccs the Africa Twin is pretty popular and reliable. The upright position of the ADV bikes might help with the aches and pains. Hell, some even have clutchless transmissions like the Africa Twin that might be easier on your wrists.

    I cant stand the front end on the Tenere and was underwhelmed with the Africa Twin. Im leaning towards another Duc, I miss the L-twin and know how to work on them pretty well. I may pick up another YZ250 to tear around on in the meantime. Theyre fun with ice picks on the lake in the winter. :rofl:
    Im picky af so we’ll see. :rolleyes:

    :eek::eek2:

    But it's beautiful! I'm biased. I would be really tempted to do the T7 instead of the little CB500X, but the Honda is a bit friendlier to my shortness, and easier on the budget.

    Did you look at the Super Tenere as well? It's a little different than the T7, and it's bigger engine might be better suited to your experience level. I'm still partial to the smaller one's looks, but the Super looks a bit more like the Africa twin.

    I was just mention that there are several options in the BMW and Triumphs that might tickle your fancy. I'm a little partial to the opposed twins, but I wouldn't mind giving a triple a shot.

    IDK, I think it's the geeky kid in me that likes the way the 4 lights almost look like eyes or something. Thing looks like it's 2 steps from being some kind of Johnny 5 bike to my mind. Reviews on it have been pretty encouraging too. The super is too much bike for me. I'm starting small (less than 1000cc) and I can always upgrade later. With the other bikes you've had, I'm pretty sure you could handle it without much of an issue.

    Being short makes finding comfortable bikes outside the small ones, or cruisers a bit of a challenge. I do know there are plenty of short women that ride tall bikes and they just learn techniques to manage them. Revzilla has at least one gal on staff (Jen something) and she rides plenty of dirt and adventure bikes that have high seats. They kind of talk about it in this podcast.

    I would do the T7 before the 500X if you are planning to do any off road. Also the T7 motor is very nice and there is a ton of aftermarket support for it. Is it perfect, no, no bike is, but it's a pretty nice bike.

    Off roading isn't my goal, per se. I live on a gravel/dirt/pothole road, so I need something that isn't completely unsettled by that type of thing. I'm not really interested in dirt bike style activities. Aiming more for a commuter type that I can get some solid experience on to get over my previous reservations about riding.

    Basically, I'm being a wuss and want something that is tame to get reacquainted with motorcycling, and I feel the T7 may be a bit over my experience level. That and I'm pinching my pennies a little. The T7 is hard to resist, though. :bikewhoops:
