Add in dealer installation cost and it is up there no doubt.

This seems like a little more than just a simple lift kit, new, forged, UCAs, longer front axles..... Sounds like this is heading into LT territory

At $4,000 I think there will be better and more cost effective options for lifts from Toytec, BDS, etc. buts lets wait and see.

I feel the list needs to be added because I'm starting think everyone just looked at the price and moved on. There is a lot more to it then just shocks, which I feel is like where everyone immediately let's their mind wonder to.

You are essentially getting a whole new front suspension. The only component I dont quite understand is the "lower knuckle".

More so, which aftermarket company provides a 3/36 warranty on their stuff?

    Icon stage 1 (smoothies) - 1800
    Control arm - 500 to 850
    Front bump - 125
Coachbuiler outer tie rod - 400
Aftermarket stock length axels - 400
    Aftermarket end links - 125 to 300

Total so far 3875 high side

Kits adds up...and that's without quoting a few items

Even shopping for top shelf Kings and/or Fox, it's the price you pay for quality shit... Better options and solid setups...
There's that one guy that will pay once, cry once from factory... Good luck with that!!

I'm with you, this is actually a hell of a price if the upgraded parts perform well. After a few minutes searching, I did not see a single kit that so much as mentioned brake lines or axle extensions. Stock axles from Toyota are about $500 a piece, so upgraded replacements could cost more.

Seems to me the OEM kit will be more comprehensive than many aftermarket solutions, but what would really detract from it is if those Bilsteins turn out to be just longer 4600s...

Actually I'm pleasantly surprised. When they first mentioned a factory lift, I figured they were going to overcharge for a couple of spacers. This does seem to be a pretty comprehensive lift. Yea its pricey compared to doing your own lift after purchase. But compared to what dealers currently tack on for "Dealer installed 3rd party" lifts..its really not bad assuming it carries a full factory warranty.

If installation is included, it's not a terrible price for what you get. If they want another $2500 for install, take off eh!

Tacoma has also a Toyota approved factory lift kit at a price tag of $1400 approximately, and it does NOT include installation, and some dealer quote $1k labor to install that.
I'm pretty sure this price does not include installation.

Now, the question is, if I order this kit and install it myself according to the instruction of the kit, do I still get the warranty or only dealer installed can have warranty?

Stop comparing this to Toytec or BDS. This is not a lift kit. It is a complete suspension upgrade. The components are matched and work together for optimal performance. The problem with a "lift kit" is that they are just that, they lift the truck and you end up maxing out the OEM components and overextending them. Often times performance is not improved and many times it's worse. Most lift kits just include new coilovers, rear shocks and maybe a rear lift spacer. You don't get matching UCA's, tie rods, end links, CV's, bumpstops, etc. With the TRD "lift kit" everything is going to work in unison and you aren't piece mealing parts. Ride quality and performance both on and off-road is going to be improved. This is a good deal IMO for a factory part.

I just recently placed a request with my local dealer to order a *1794 with the TRD Off-Road package, but the added cost was only $2,140. I see it comes with "off-road suspension and Bilstein shocks", but does anyone know what else this entails? TRD UCAs? Does it maintain the basic original ride height?

5k for a lifted suspension and tires is not that much to someone buying a $65k truck.

What other companies are releasing kits soon other than westcott designs, which is a step better than a spacer lift imo.
