Found out today from my TRD buddies, the same ones that told me the engine would be a TTV6, that Toyota is going to make a Raptor version of the Tundra. From what I was told is that it'll be the TRD PRO but 3 different versions. Regular Pro with some offroad stuff, a mid travel PRO and then a Long Travel PRO.

It'll pretty much be this truck. Same friend got to drive this one after it was built.

I think this speaks more to the unhealthy habits of Americans than the limitations of Toyota's new Tundra. In America, people eat crap. They develop illnesses from it so they go the doctor to get a pill to control the illness just so they can keep eating the crap that is killing them. Rinse and repeat.

Are those sliders or retractable steps? Cuz every off-roader needs retractable steps. And yeah, still NO towhooks - which would indicate there isn't a place to mount them? How good does it look buried in mud with no way to get it out?

Our generation has truly lost the concept of patience. Just wait a few months until the truck is actually on the road and make your decision then. That high of a payload would make any non HD truck squat. My point is if a 30 second ad of pumpkins is what seals the deal for you or anyone else on not buying a 22, I would argue that there was no real interest in the first place.

I'm not clear on how having patience after seeing a manufacturer brag about squatting their own 'baddass truck' will make things better?

It's a fall commercial of the truck with a payload of 1500+ lbs and a few thousand on a trailer. It's not that serious, I promise. If that same weight was in haybales or pipes instead of pumpkins this forum would be changing their underwear with excitement.

It's like they think the Tundra is squatting with a normal sized pumpkin in the bed.

Perhaps? Even better would have been to do something like tow a space shuttle, like they did last generation - IMPRESSIVE! A pumpkin squat? Not so much.

I guess if Toyota is appealing to the millennial crowd that just wants to ride up higher then yeah, they're hitting the mark. But for some old timers the last thing they want to see is a truck buckling from a pumpkin. A VEGETABLE for heavens sakes! It's all about perception really.

"Hell boyz, I put some veggies in the back of my baddass truck last night. She sure squatted but I've got pie for a year!"

I wouldn't be surprised if some of that millennial crowd didn't understand how heavy that pumpkin is, but I would think those 'old timers' would know better.

Makes a heck of a lot more sense than a pumpkin, pumpkin.

No offense meant by that, pumpkins being manly and all.

    Dear toyota,

Due to your horrible roll out of the new Tundra, horrible marketing, lack of information the least you can do is give us something else to argue over instead of pumpkins....my vote would be give is the COST.

    Thank you

Possibly. But then again I'm hauling stuff to build with. Not vegetables.

"I've got a baddass truck that can haul the biggest vegetables you can grow!"

    Said no man ever.

It's not like Toyota is forcing you to haul vegetables. Do you whine as much in real life as much as you do on the internet?

Companies are dropping some products to produce other products for example apple is dropping iPad to make iPhone , many are doing this. Reports from other sites…..

Here is a report from an owner that sells high end car audio:

This is what many companies are doing. Ditch one product to keep another in the pipeline.

For example. I just talked to Kicker yesterday in Stillwater, Ok. Kicker...maker of car amplifiers and subwoofers. There lower amp line consists of 6 amps. They have had to ditch 4 and focus on the top 2. Due to parts. Just focus on the 2 that sell the best/most.

I know some of you like updates on my little car audio world (Electronics Stores in Portland Oregon) Well, we are totally screwed for car stereo head units. Period. Kenwood is redesigning all of their circuit boards so they can use a different chip set that are more readily available. That process takes 6 months. Try and find any Kenwood Excelon Touch Screen out their in the world. All Gone. Talk about insane. The other day, Crutchfield had a special deck that they got a few of on their website. I have been waiting for a couple of these for over a year for a couple classic cars we need them for. They had 4 on their website. The Pioneer Flip out car play. I bought all four. Got them. Then they called me and asked who I was? I played dumb. Then they blocked my email and banned me from their site. ooops.

I don't care what the units cost...I will pay retail or more....we must have these to finish up $20,000 audio systems in some classic cars. Can you say demand/inflation.

This chip/labor/inflation/covid/trucking/port congestion problem is not going away for years. Too many issues. It is not just one.

Side Note: I have been looking for a Used Tundra. The used prices here in Portland have gone OVER what a new one costs. Decided to wait for this one coming out next week. Went to the dealership here in Portland, they already have 15 of them prepaid at $15,000 over MSRP. Screw that. I will wait until the hype blows over....

Only when confronted with stupendous ignorance when it comes to marketing. It's my opinion. It's not like I'm forcing you to read it. You like the commercial? Scroll past my comments and post something like "did you see that badass truck with those vegetables in the back! Awesome! Trust me, I'll scroll past that comment myself.

You're the one whining about vegetables, not me. I couldn't care less what Toyota does marketing wise. If I like the truck, I'm going to buy it.
