No worries...there will be an engineer that comes along shortly that will say that the squat was actually on purpose...something about performance...blah blah. I am actually surprised that they haven't said something like that already considering they have been known to squat more under the same weight than others.

They are just saying that you don't need to modify your truck to get that sweet sweet Carolina Squat.

That was my first thought...and is that with the air-bags? I'm not sure the Toyota marketing department has any actual truck people in it.

Toyota needs to fire two people.

    1. The person in charge of the Tundra roll out.

    2. The person in charge of marketing.

    3. the person who decided to make the truck 5 inches longer while shrinking most of the bed and interior specs
    4. the person who decided to go with a TTV6 when a next gen 6.2 iforce would have likely got just as good of MPG
    5. the person who decided to make the grill absolutely HUGE

Hahaha is that a challenge? You know that people are typing their rants right now!

But that said, I think it's an undeniable fact that this roll out has been atrocious and that whomever is in charge of marketing should be sent back to mailroom.

    ya easy..:bananadance:

removing all the underseat storage if you want the hybrid.
still leaving controls at your knees behind the steering wheel.
    lower right height
    funky looking grill surround colors

O, and worth another mention, 5 more inches while shrinking most usable areas

Lol “it’s because you parked under trees.” What’s next. I guess Hondas are prairie-only cars now. I will say my 04 Civic was much more durable than our 18. Lost AC in both, one at 230,000km, one at 30k. Guess which was which;) On the 04 I changed the original brakes, plugs, belts, fluids (apart from oil and WW of course), when I sold it at around 250k. All were still ok/passable. The 18’s rear brakes were toast at 70k, fronts are going now at just over 100. Front end takes a lot of paint touch ups to avoid looking like a junker. Just two different levels of quality overall. It is just a commuter car but I did want to love it like the old one, esp being one of the last manuals you can get.

No way that thing is under payload specs. Probably close to 2500lbs + of payload between that pumpkin and the trailer.

Toyota's Facebook post about it claimed the pumpkin in the bed was 1200lb, so yeah most likely over 1600lb payload of the TRD-Pro.

Amen. I'm still driving an 08 CRV with 321,000 km. I've only ever had to replace pads, rotors, fluids, a belt and alternator just recently, a PCV valve and hose, and an O2 sensor. Honestly, only a few hundred into it over the last 13 years. I swapped out the hood from a junk yard because I started getting some rust in the corners, and it's still looking pretty decent. What really impressed me though is this last weekend, we went hunting and in ingress was completely flooded. My buddy in his tacoma was up to his undercarriage with water. There was no way through except for straight, so I gunned in with the ol' CRV. It made it even with water going onto the hood. I counted my lucky stars and then had to pass 3 more flooded crossings, all of which was surprisingly no challenge for it. I could have been easily waterlogged the first time around, but the CRV didn't disappoint.

umm, the truck in your picture does.

good lord what a epic fail for truck rollouts.

Geniuses at Toyota marketing or advertising. Lets take a Pro trim and squat the crap out it in a commercial. Not take it off road or any type of terrain.

They could of showed a platinum or 1794 with the airbags or something doing work. Who knows, maybe those trims can't handle a giant 1500lb pumpkin and trailer but a Pro trim can??? scratching my head on this one. LOL.

Nothing to question. Honda's quality, along with their innovation has been slipping for years now.

I think they were more concerned about the colour of the truck matching the colour of the pumpkin....because that's what matters in a truck. Might give us some insight on their target audience. I am scratching your head on this as well and just voicing my annoyance with the roll out. I am purchasing one because I have wanted a Tundra for years and I like the look at it, but the frustration up to the point where I get the keys has soured the experience quite a bit.

One more thing to bitch about.......

I seriously doubt they will really release full pricing and builds online. Trucks will start showing up at dealers and these people who have "reserved" their spot in line will have sticker shock.

So let me get this straight: Toyota is all about reliability and safety but they roll out a commercial showing their next truck being overloaded WITH VEGETABLES!... and brag about how great it is?

They are marketing the truck to urbanites that think that going to the farmers market is being rugged. I really want to buy this truck but Toyota seems hellbent on changing my mind for me.

I dont even really care so much about the overload, but it just looks stupid peeing like a female dog.

use a truck with the airbags FFS

show it dip down a bit while loaded and then come right back up to level
