The pool is “open” but the water is way too cold to swim. I think it was 71° when I was cleaning up the travertine today. It’s good if you want to shock the system after a workout I suppose… we don’t do the normal winterizing of pools in AZ - just clean them up and maintain chemicals through the winter. It’s nice that the yard still looks cool in the colder months though. Basically a glorified water feature.

Wow , those are cool looking. I would sure like to know more details, but you probably don’t have any information; maker? Steels? Process?

You would have to stay a while or do multiple trips.
Some of that and some architecture can be overwhelming.

I stood in main square in Brussels for over 4 hours literally looking at two buildings.
Brussels Town Hall and The Palace of Justice.
The ornate work and hand chiseled stone was amazing, some of it over 300’ tall.
One part is over 500’ tall!
They’re all built facing each other creating this amazing square.
    The enormity is crazy!
When you take it all in, you finally realize, this was done in the 19th century!

it is really hard to describe.

And that shit is everywhere over there.

I haven’t - I do have a side compartment for cold smoking, so I should probably give that a try someday.

I've waterskiied at 69-70 degree water temperature. It's nice on a hot day.

I wish my pool was 70 when it’s 110 here.

I don’t remember what temp the lakes in Wisconsin were that we went to when we were kids, but it was definitely brisk getting in at first. Like you said, though, feels great on a hot day.

Like you, I’m not really sure of the actual temperature, but I remember jumping into the colorado after hiking down into the Grand Canyon. The water was like snow melt. Your rib cage just constricted and you couldn’t take a breath. Definitely made you feel very much alive!

I saw a show on "Create" a few years ago , but for the life of me I can't remember what brine was used. A simple process but you need the right brine of course. I think back in the day after "brineing" and cold smoking the soon to be bacon pork belly was hung up for a while like they do with hams. I really want to attempt this.

After all this talk of conquest, I planned on taking back my ancestral homeland, Ireland. haven't been there in over 30 years, but just realized they are not politically aligned with my views, so I will leave them to the Vikings to straighten them out.
