Bought truck on Friday. Got Platinum warranty and tire/wheel one as well. Got caught up in the excitement. Just in case, purchased warranty’s with Amex.
I also asked about getting it later and he said now is the time. I see he was correct about the tire/wheel one. Platinum extended is within factory timeline. I did not argue, like I said caught up in the excitement. First full size truck!!
He mentioned curb rash and modified tires…bigger ones were covered. I don’t believe that to be true.
Anyway going in tomorrow morning to cancel. Any trouble is a just quick call to Amex.

I was pressured into buying it, the finace guy kept saying it's a trd pro, it's more expensive to repair due to expensive parts on it. I got the platinum 6 yr 75k miles. I don't know if it was worth it. It hasn't been a month so thinking of canceling and maybe buying one later. I had an 07 for 12 years and only replace battery and tires and didn't buy the warranty.

Can I get the info, I might have to call and compare.

 

I cancelled mine. I’m rolling the dice. Dave Ramsey says you should not take it. Lol.

 

wait until u have to replace the JBL radio-$5000 to replace. Bluetooth dropping calls after 4minutes

 

If that happens that when I add aftermarket headunit. My system is getting changed but keeping headunit for now.

 

For anyone shopping in the Northeast, check out Toyota Volvo of Keene. Just picked up a 21 Tundra TRD Off Road. They offered unlimited time/100k bumper to bumper for $1,695 which I think is outstanding considering it's unlikely I'll put on more than 5k a year. They also give you, yes for free! a lifetime powertrain warranty for as long as you own the vehicle that is backed by Allstate, this covers all lubricated parts of the engine, tranny and drive axles. Of course snow plowing will void this, also parts that fail because they're out of spec from normal wear.

I think these warranties speak volumes to the reliability of these trucks.

my read on that wheel/tire warranty was that it was for the original tires. When the closer at my dealership went over it with me (he was really keen on selling it) it came up with those specific Michelin tires spelled out. I told him I was swapping out the tires in two days and he said “oh, nevermind”. Maybe he just didn’t know, but all that makes me think it’s just a total ripoff if you plan to swap out tires. Wouldn’t it just be cheaper to buy the “any reason damage replacement” overcharge at the tire place?

 

Probably right. At least your guy was straight up. Mine gave me the “whatever happens and even different size”. Sounded to good to be true. He was very nonchalant about it. I read the small print later. That warranty is a rip off. Mine came with the upgrade tires - nitto grapplers 275’s, good for now. If they were Michelin’s I would be doing the same as you ASAP.

 

I am interested in buying one. Am I to late? Mine is a 2019 with 38,000 miles on it.

 

I’d also like more information 2019 limited 17xxx on the clock, am I too late?
