I have a 2003 Tundra and I wanted to replace the front chrome moldings for black ones. Is the best way to paint them, find just the moldings or find a whole grille that is all black?

10/28/2021: Solved! never updated this but Vinyl wrapped the lower piece about a year ago. Ill put a picture.

I'd like to do the same thing except my truck is gray. What did you end up doing to get rid of the chrome?

After I wrap mine for $17 I'll let you know.

I've painted it, twice. Bed linered it once. No matter how good the prep was it chipped after a year.

I ended up buying a limited grill and I actually have the lower chrome piece vinyl wrapped already. This post is a little old Luis

I Bought a Limited tundra grill that doesnt have the chrome pieces, and I vinyl wrapped the bottom piece. Had it wrapped for a year or so now with no problems.

    Zombified!

So funny, y'all are looking to delete and get the look of my Limited, I'm looking to go with a hybrid, chrome package grille and keep my Limited chrome-deleted bumper.

Some Photoshop work suggests that may look good. I guess we'll see :D

Looks awesome, nice job. I opted to paint mine when I repainted my truck.

I'm going to move to option #4 after playing with bedliner, or maybe wrap :)

I used Rustoleum liner on mine. To be fair it took just over a year to start chipping but that was with a 45 mile round trip daily highway commute. It was really the bar on the bumper that took the beating.

Interesting I only have about 6 months with the whole truck raptor lined. I don't daily my truck but in the summer that's when it get the most use hauling track car. I do have to say I did about 4 coats of raptor.

I think Raptor and Monstaliner are far superior to rustoleum. You're probably going to get a lot better result than I did in terms of longevity.

I was going to have my paint guy spray my bumpers and my Tonneau (clear coat failure). I may have to look into this.

Do it and do the look back, around me it's very expensive to do the whole truck. So I took apon myself to do it and I was scared but it turn out better then if a shop would have done because my ocd didn't not let me cut corners.

Yea, I had the boy's 4R sprayed, but i'm not sure what manufacturer - I saw another job and it was good. I'm assuming you sprayed the Raptor liner and didn't roll anything. That may be my limitation - spraying large parts.

Yea I took everything apart and sprayed the Raptor. It's not that hard to spary not your typical paint paint very forgiving. You only need a compressor and if uou buy the kit from Raptor it comes with the gun.
