I second what SLA10 said. See if velcro will stick to your headliner. If if does then put in on the back of the patch and just stick the patch to your headliner.

On the 3rd gen the hook Velcro will not stick. If you don’t care about the headliner then you can try double sided tape but removal may mess it up. A lot of tundra guy put them below the center console @Squatting Pigeon probably has a shot of this.

You can get velcro hook to stick to the 3rd gen headliner ... I have a bunch of patches stuck to mine. Push on the patch really hard and kind of move/mash it into the headliner and it'll stick. You will need to do this to different areas of the patch.

My velcro patches stick well on the underside of the rear seat when up, but I don't know if you have a CM or it's an option you approve of...

    Lots of shenanigans.
I keep mine on the underside of the rear seat as well. I have the DC and no issues. I’ll take a pic once I get back from my work trip.

Makes sense...forgot the interior of the DC has this, never seen one on the inside. Very nice.

Check the build link in my signature.
I thought about getting a piece of more "loopy" fabric and attaching it to the headliner with some of the twist upholstery pins...if I can find some that aren't flower pattern
    https://www.amazon.com/Powerful-Cle...t=&hvlocphy=9033604&hvtargid=pla-522454504523

Problem is that I have a moonroof, which doesn't leave much front seat headliner space for patches.

Not entirely true, certain Velcro’s will stick. It’s got to be a very stiff, with space between the hooks. I’ve been having luck with this

I might have to restick them every once in awhile, but they will hold there for the most part

Even in the Fj I have to push them back into place and that headliner is much better for patches. I like your tac outfitters patches btw

Patches stick well on the headliner of my '05. Just another reason why 1st Gen is the Best Gen.

I have some with velcro. They stuck much better in my 2012 4Runner. Sometimes they fall but I have been meaning to grab some small pins to hold them in place instead. Maybe I will try the velcro that @Swfltoyomafia linked.

I found this online. I’m actually going to remove the whole headliner and spray this on. But with black. That way the kids in the back can throw their patches up and create more memories too. But I’ll definitely be posting pictures of the process of removing the old head liner and installing this. But something I’ve always wanted to do

Just grabbed a few more from Tactical outfitters.EFE525DD-A4CD-4498-B86B-644A4126E566.jpg Their Velcro seems to hold real well on the headliner. I’ll have to take a pic tomorrow of them up

As promised. This really just started. I have a few that don’t stick to the headliner, so I put them on the carpet in the footwell BF63B072-30A3-4B43-AF64-0F71099E3DC4.jpg616EAB79-5C36-41FF-A62E-26E3B9EFC292.jpg

I've been using the little pins. They suck but I've yet to find a patch backing that sticks.
