Why not wait to see what the Capstone trim level is that hasn’t been announced yet

I told him I was waiting until pricing was released before I would talk about reserving one/getting on any sort of list.

I think certain dealers, especially volume ones are getting some initial allocation confirmations. I know where I bought my 21 they know of a few confirmed trims. Not much though for being one of the largest Toyota dealers.

The dealer I know has one 2022 Tundra showing. It is SR5 trim metallic gray crewmax. It shows the options but no pricing yet. The build date estimate is 11/15 which means it will be at the dealership around mid December or earlier. Looks like all surrounding areas have been allocated only SR5 trims for now.

So far I've seen a lot of these have the "non skid spray in liner " nice $500 markup.

That is my plan. I just don't see the spray in stuff lasting based on people who tried to have spray in liners done on tacoma beds. If the non skidd liner lasts like normal spray in liners I think it could be worth it but if it only lasts a year or so before flaking off definitely not worth the cost.

Is this not a standard spray in liner like the big 3 offer now or the Line-X type or is this something else because you guys make it sound like it's an aerosol can that the wash boy at the dealership does in the wash bay?

Can you spray in over the composite bed? Wouldn’t a be mat suffice for anti slip?

They've said a spray-in and a mat will be available.

I don't think they've said yet. They said it was for anti slip which to me, the spray in liners are still pretty slick, just a lot of texture to them. I was thinking it might be more of a softer rubber coating. Personally, I would rather just get a rubber mat.

I will be going the mat route myself. Durable, washable, and when I don't need to haul stuff, it is perfect for keeping the groceries intact :)

I had no clue you could spray over the composite. Thought that was the whole point of the new bed was to eliminate doing that. Figured the spray in option on a composite bed was a bs option for markup lol

The main engineer said there is that spray in option, I never knew - but he said for some applications, the composite is to slippery , so for those, the spray option would work. or a bed mat he said.

If you have never had a tacoma with the composite bed they are extremely slick and everything slides around like crazy if not tied down. That is the main reason for the mat or a spray in texture to keep things from sliding around.

Why get those from a dealership, though? I would think aftermarket would be lower cost and same or better quality.

You wouldn't have to get them from the dealership, I'm just reporting they said they were available. I don't know enough about it to know if being a composite bed makes the spray-in stuff different, but that could be the case. The only advantage I can see in getting the bed mat from the dealer is Toyota should have bed mats exactly the right size as soon as the truck is available, aside from the convenience of getting everything in one place.

When I ordered my F150 the Ford option is like $599 and the dealer option was $550 and line-x was somewhere in the middle. It really wasn't too far off. And I'd rather have the factory warranty and not just dealer warranty or store warranty.

Yeah, it can vary. Line X for my truck was $550. Toyota would have charged me $600 and the service manager didn't actually know which product they used and couldn't be bothered to find out and get back to me, even though she said she would.

I’ve got a mat in my 21 and I love it. Protects the bed, kids scooters and bikes don’t slide around, and any water the tonneau cover let’s through stays under the mat so anything on the mat is dry.

Just got a call from the local dealer in NC. First allotment of 2022's are 60 days out from being delivered, and asked if I was still in the market. One 4X4 SR trim, and one 2X4 SR5 trim. No MSRP as of yet.
