Perique blend cigars are out there. You can't use it straight, wayyyyy too strong. Here is one.

This is available at Daughters & Ryan but I would CALL as the website is a little wonky to me.

Got my new humi setup. There's a guy here in AZ that builds these out to your specs. I'm partial to Cubans

Very nice; Did you just get that Humi online? as in running?
RH numbers look a little low.
    It's dry in AZ though.

So dry here. It was good when I loaded it up but I've been fighting it ever since.

Are the insides of the Humidor Cedar lined?
If so, take a sponge and wipe them down with DI water.
Your wooden boxes that are not coated with paper you can DI wipe them too.
This will help speed up the moisture absorption process till it stablizes.
One thing you can do is pick up an Igloo type cooler and throw some of your boxes in there with water bead packs.
They'll stabilize real quick then you can transfer them back into your main unit.

Got the day's stuff done and no more fires to put out.
Temp today was 79 a few days before Halloween.
So, I carved out a few minutes where no one could bug me and sat down with a few friends.

Padron 1926 Number One Maduro to celebrate the end of the Fall hunting season. Usually go with the 1964 Torpedo, but this was the closest available.

Buddy, that smoke is the first ever #1 cigar in the world (CA picked)
You can't any better than that.
I smoke em both and have a humidor just for Padrons.
The 1926 gets my nod by a hair over the 64, both being world class smokes.

Smoked a Padron 1964 Anniversary corona natural that I bought to celebrate my daughter’s birth. Took a bit but was worth it. What I would consider a “perfect” stick

I'm not sure there is a perfect stick but that one is as close as any could be.
A standard by which all others are judged hands down.

I smoked this last night. I enjoyed it very much.
I liked it better than the RP Decade that I mentioned a few posts up.
The Sun-Dried Maduro had more things going on, more complex.

I had a box of those and yes, the Maduro kicks things up. RP makes a good Maduro or two in his line up.
Probably 1/2 of my collection is Maduro based. I like em after dinner with a good whiskey when I'm shutting down the day.
After a while though, you will find that a medium "natural Connecticut" wrapper is nice in the morning or afternoon when other things need to be got to.
Sometimes, when I want a Padron which is just about the top shelf cigar you could smoke, I will reach for a natural instead of a Padron Maduro which ranks constantly in the high 90s.
Reason? a Padron has so many flavor profiles coming from it that sometimes, the Maduro will overshadow all those flavor profiles.
Padron Maduro is world class but, can overwhelm the beauty that went into building that cigar.
My personal rule for Maduro cigars and has held up for years is this.
Cigars that have simple profiles like maybe two to three changes in the smoking, I will get Maduro versions.
These are excellent top shelf cigars costing a few bucks more but the Maduro gets enjoyed without competing with the rest of the smoke.
Highly complex cigars which I call "desert" cigars, I always shoot for non Maduro versions when possible.
While your discovering wrapper effects, may I recommend Cameroon wrapper types.
There are world class Cameroon cigars available at a reasonable price and if I am at a smoke shop, I'm searching for what they might have in Cameroon.

Having the family Christmas party this Saturday night.
I decided to pop these guys open for it.
    Acid "Roam" by Drew Estate.
The botanicals are so intense that you can actually smell them hours later after opening the box then closing it.
Becoming hard to find now but it's time.

What two cigars would you recommend that are identical except one has a maduro wrapper and one doesn't?

I was thinking maybe the Perdomo 20th Anniversary Sun Grown verse the 20th Anniversary Maduro.

Hmmm, that might be nice. Maybe the Perdomo lot 23 in both. (my fav Perdomo)
Aging Room Quattro Maduro vs Aging Room Quattro Connecticut would be a better comparison.

Looked it up; only three reviews but they liked it.
I'm familiar with the tobacco types used and I do have some cigars in my collection with Mata Fina wrappers.
Is it worth $17.00 bucks a stick? well, you can buy some shit hot Padrons or Cohibas and some others for that.
My Cuesta Reyes use Mata Fina and they are one of my favorite GC smokes and for only $97.00 for ten tubes.
Warfighter must be using a bit more Ligero in their offering to kick up the "nic" level because the Cuesta Rey is a solid medium stick and the Warfighter sounds like a med / full or full.

I believe they only have the Victory available at that price. I bought a 6 pack sampler with the Victory in it. Figured I would sample all of their sticks and then order what I liked later. Or never order them again if they sucked lol. But I do believe I will order again if the rest of them are as good as the Victory.

Is anybody here part of the privada cigar club, or follow the LCA drops? I'm participating on the subterraneo scavenger hunt and I will be picking up some of whatever my local shop is getting (not sure what they are getting yet) and will be looking to trade for other sticks that are part of the scavenger hunt.

    That is pretty awesome.
They have specific cigars that will be released throughout the year in different parts of the country to make a collection.

Yes it is a specific set of cigars to make a neat little collection. They are being released through their LCA program. It is to help drive new customers into local cigar shops around the country.
