Last week I was shocked (shocked!) to get 16.67MPG in my 2021 SR5 CM.
    - Ran 5W30 over the summer due to the heat
    - Dropped down to some Kirkland 0W20 for the fall/winter. Seems to help!
    - Drove some longer trips, usually 45min
    - Fewer stops, mostly country roads, no freeways
    - Max speed usually 65mph
    - Didn't do jackrabbit starts or otherwise floor it

And I was rewarded with pretty decent mileage! Pretty sure I could easily hit 17 on the freeway, perhaps even 18. Not bad for the 5.7L dinosaur!

Normally I get about 14.5 "Around town" since I do a lot of short trip. Stops and traffic light kill the efficiency since one must get the heavy beast rolling again.

I normally get 14 to 15 but have gotten up to 18 on long cruising road trips with average speed at 65, 70mph. Never used any other oil weight other than 0w20 though.

Ditto on avg 14-15...Happy with that with lift and bigger tires combo.... Always used 0-20w Mobil1 for duration

I tend to range around 17.6-17.8 if it’s strictly freeway driving around 68mph.
This is on a completely stock 2010 CM 4x4

    Is the OP's lifted?

I ask because mine's a mix of driving it like I stole it, and putzing around; city and country. (I'd say 10% driving it like I stole it; 90% loafing along; and probably 75% country, 25% city driving.) I live in south central MO - the Ozarks. Not tons of 'mountains' but plenty of hills to drive up and down.

With all of that, I'm sitting at right around 16.5 right now. Were I on the interstate (AND were I able to keep it at around 75mph or so), I'd easily get about 17.5 - 18MPG.

You all must have a light foot! One time I got just over 16mpg hand calculated but I must have been only coasting downhill h. Mostly average 13-14 with 80% mountain highways and 20% offroad and no city stop and go. It's a solid 5-8mpg less than I got with my F150 2.7 ecoboost that also had more power but at 50K miles it was both burning oil and dumping fuel into the oil so that is the tradeoff!

The highest I have ever gotten was a little over 19 but it is usually around 17 or 18

Tire size and speed are the biggest determinants of mpg. With 35s, i averaged 15-16 highway. With stock tires, i get 18mpg all day at 65mph.

My city driving went from 11 to 14 going down from 35s to stock.

i too ran 5w-30 during the summer and since changing back to 0w-20 the avg mpg meter has started ticking back up

I normally get 18 highway. I try to avoid driving my truck in the city if I'm not hauling something.

    Also, :deadhorse:

I'm tickled pink when I see 10 mpg. But, then, I'm usually driving around hitched to a 6000-pound trailer :)

At risk of making this an oil thread  ... I'm wondering about running 5w30. Don't we have variable valve timing? Please pardon if that's a stupid question, but I'm new to the Tundra.

5W-30 is totally ok. Every country specs a different oil for the Tundra, notably Mexico. I don't think the Tundra 5.7L cares. I run thicker oil in the summer since we normally get a couple months of 100F+ weather here. 0W-20 in the cooler months.

Those with the 2022 model will likely need to be diligent about their oil due to the twin turbo. (My wife's volvo has a supercharger and turbo, Volvo specifies a very narrow range of approved oils. It's expensive too, ebay price about $10/qt.)

Anyway, I don't have a lift but I do have slightly larger coopers on the stock 20" rims. I would run Michelins but couldn't find my size.

Whatever this forum told me to do
    I'm a good test case.

I drive 28 miles to work in the early morning.

25 of those miles are hwy. I cruise @ 58mph.

I regularly get 18.5-ish on my work trip. remember, these are ideal conditions.

on the weekends - we use the truck for all kinds of family crap. my avg is always ~17mpg for a tank.

16 is pretty easy to get with a stock truck on P rated tires. I see that all the time. I know when I switch to LT275/70R18 tires it’s going to drop.
