I picked up a full used suspension setup from a local guy over the weekend. Fox 2.5 with DSC front & rear, Camburg uniball UCA, 1.5" lift shackle for the rear. Everything seems to be in really good shape.

I got the rear shocks installed yesterday just to see how they feel, but have a question about the reservoir hoses. Is it possible to spin them so that they enter the reservoir from the top instead of the bottom? I have a bolt from my airbags on one side that is rubbing on the hose and I can't get it adjusted enough to avoid it. I put a piece of velcro loop in there, but don't trust it to stay put. Here are some pics of the issue area:

Also, another thing I'm going back and forth on, the truck already had aftermarket UCAs on it when I bought it, but I don't know the brand or anything about them. Is it worth removing them and installing the Camburg UCAs? Will there be a noticeable difference? I'm debating selling the Camburgs to recoup some of my cost if there's not much difference.

Thanks for any help you guys can give.

I don't think you'll have any issues rotating the reservoirs, so long as the hose doesn't get stretched/twisted it should be good.

Camburg is quality stuff, why compromise? :p

FYI, with your current front set up I don't see any indication of bump stop/lca contact. Might wanna make sure your shocks won't bottom before bumps are contacted. If they bottom hard, they may break. Just beware!

I don't understand what you're saying.... you don't think there's a bump stop in there? Sorry for the ignorance

I tried, but the hose is so stiff I can only rotate the reservoir about 20 degrees total. Not enough to clear the bolt. I think I'd need to loosen up the fitting slightly and rotate the hose, but don't want to mess something up

There are pads on the frame to bump the lca on 2 on each side. They take the blow and prevent the shock from fully compressing under hard impact when the control arms flex upward

I would not loosen the fitting. Can you put a spacer in-between the frame and the res to push it out more?

Ok I'll have to look for that. Where are they on the LCA usually?

2 pads are mounted to the frame on each side directly above the LCA. They are about 2" in diameter.

See the octagon shape in your photo. Lower right corner.

Right, I see it now. What about it? Does it need to be extended?

Depends on your shocks, you don't want them to fully compress and bottom prior to bump stop contact. Just happened to notice in your photo it doesn't look like contact has been happening at that location. Maybe you just don't hit any big bumps. Just get extensions in place if you determine the need based on your shocks so you don't destroy them when or if you should have a sudden full compression of the shocks.

Oh ok, gotcha. Yeah I'm going to remove the shocks in that pic because it's just a spacer lift, replace with the Fox. I'll verify once I get those installed.
