The new AT4X at first glance looks like a much better thought out off road edition than the PRO...I mean...It has tow hooks...

Entry prices $32,495 for the PRO (work truck). Tops out $80,395 for the top end Denali Ultimate.....Prices everywhere in between for the other trims....Thats going to be competitive once pricing gets back to normal....with GM discounts and Toyotas lack of discounts...they need to be very cautious on their pricing....

Real normal world pricing on that truck will be 62-64 once the pricing gets back to normal.

It does have front and rear lockers, tow hooks, a bigger bed and better towing when you put that 6.2L V8 option....

Don't worry guys. @Gene5253 totally understands now that this is a Tundra forum and we can discuss the competition. He won't tell you to go someplace else anymore.

So I looked at the 1500 AT4 a few months ago and it started at about $53-$54, It now starts at $61k.

The AT4x starts at $75k, with options you are pushing $80k.

    Denali Ultimate starts at $81k!!!!

Yeah Toyota could price the pro at 65-70k and it would still sell in todays climate. That AT4X is nice and it looks like they re did the seats. But that price point …..

Once the real world pricing gets back...it will probably be closer to the TRD Pro than you might think, I think the TRD Pro will breach 60K and maybe more, they have hyped the Tundra TRD Pro so much, that it will more than likely keep the mark up on top of mark up that the Tacoma TRD Pro has had for several years. So I would not be surprised to see the norm on a TRD Pro being 10K higher than MSRP as the norm...

Its pretty much been that way with the Tacoma for a long time before COVID. And with the Instagram hype for the Tundra PRO, we may see that as well. I know Tundra buyers aren't used to that, but its a thing with that package....

Real world that price is 62-65K. GM will discount as soon as they possibly can, as soon as they can crank volume...they are gonna have to move volume...Same applies to Ford and Ram....I mean heck, just at the bottom of the page for the 22 they are advertising a $2500 rebate on the 2021's...lol

I do like the screen placement. I like how it’s not the tallest thing on the dash or protrudes.

GMC charges you for everything. Do you want your new truck painted? That will be $450. Want a toolset just in case. They will sell you that too.

The 1000 option add ons is annoying to me.

I have to say, that super cruise system has some appeal, I love the adaptive cruise control in my current Toyota, but the auto lane change and towing cruise would be nice making a run between the east coast and the rockies on the highway, just to chew up miles as quick as possible...

I think Tundra’s debut commercial is better, although the product leaves some to be desired in the way of engine options. We have to keep in mind that is Toyota’s MO though. Fewer range of options to simplify the design and manufacturing process, thus releasing a more reliable vehicle. All of that translates into better resell value. With vehicles it’s nearly impossible to have your cake and eat it too.

Those GMCs are nice trucks. All of the top tier trims are beautiful these days. However after owning a 2016 F150 Platinum I'm not interested in all of the lipstick anymore. Will be stepping down to the "measly" Limited trim in the Tundra. It has everything you need. The very top trims are just too much fluff that they throw at it to justify a very high MSRP. Also it gets one-upped in a year or two by the next best thing.

GMC with their "Up to 40 diagonal inches of digital screen availability" LOL seriously?

That Sierra is looking tempting. I’m still leaning Tundra, but I agree that GMC’s 2022 launch seems to be an appropriately hyped and well choreographed approach.

I agree, Toyota's marketing managers need to be reassigned, retrained or moved on down the road.

I noticed that too. They razzle dazzle you with all these engine options, but when you actually compare the numbers (including fuel efficiency), they’re not quite as good as what the two new Tundra engines offer.

With that said, if I were in the market today for a truck that I was actually going to use for more rigorous truck things, I would be looking hard at the GM 2500s with the gasser. I believe that’s the best value in the truck market today. A nicely equipped 2500 mid grade with 6.6 gasser can be had for right around $50k. It seems that GM has better quality control on the HDs with obviously heavier duty materials. Plus they hold their value well.

i bought a sled off a guy that had new Sierra and he was asking about my Tundra. His truck had gone through two transmissions in less than 50K. I couldn’t deal with that.

Mine has a little over 8K on it and most likely needs a new transmission

edit: and I am very gentle on the truck too

Wow, I guessing you won’t be keeping that after the powertrain warranty is up?

I’d get rid of it now while the prices are good.

Yeah I have a sale query in with Vroom. I bought it with the GM supplier discount plus rebates so I am hoping to make over $10K profit on the transaction... we will see.

GMC…thank you very much. (Chevy with the bolts torqued).

Just fine. 70K miles of no issues. Been waiting for the sky to fall….and I work the dog shit out of it.

All summer long towing 24k lb combined loads like this 70+ miles out of the mountains. I’m satisfied with my purchase.

Bolts torqued?!?! HAHA my GMC the bolts in the fuse box in the engine bay were supposed to be at 53 in-lb from factory... they were less than 30 when I checked them @ 300 miles
