I would assume wear and tear would be no different than the other buttons in the car, the Engine Start in particular.

There is and is called Denali Ultimate. You don't even want to know the price of those things......

I bought my current 2021 Tundra with the thought of resale value so that I could 'upgrade' to the 2022 model and get better payload capacity (primarily) and better gas mileage (secondarily). I have a slide-in camper and I was looking forward to buying a 2022 Limited, 4WD, 6.5' bed, Off-road.

I know Toyota wasn't building the new Tundra with the thought of slide-in campers, but this surprised me.

The distance between the truck bed wheel wells on the 2022 Tundra is listed as 48.7".
The distance between the truck bed wheel wells on the 2021 Tundra is 50".

My camper width as it sits in the truck bed is 49".

I take my truck off-road so I don't want the camper rubbing on the wheel wells. I don't know if the 2022 truck dimensions are 100% accurate, but as it's already been discussed in this forum the new truck bed looks to be shallower and narrower. I just didn't know it wouldn't be able to accommodate my camper.

As much as I wanted to avoid doing so I'll probably be looking at one of the big three for a heavy duty truck upgrade for my camper.

Just have to wonder if that is the reason the price stayed the same lol

Not that it matters but on GMC it is letting me build 2022 models. Not sure how it compares to 2021 pricing.

Thanks for the measurement comparison, I was also looking at the 2022 for a light slide in, and between the smaller bed and composite, its looking like its not going to work out very well for that.

Its a shame, because more and more slide in manufactures pop up and complete hard side are making 1/2 Ton compatible campers, but it hinges upon the trucks being build like...you know half ton trucks...lol.

The composite bed kind of had me concerned with a light slide in, but the sizing is a complete no no, if it won't fit there isn't anything you can do about it.

I looked at the 1500 AT4, for some reason it is listed as the 2022 1500 limited or something like that, which I don't recall seeing that when I bought mine. Also the interior photos are the same as mine. I built a 2022 1500 limited AT4 with all the same options I had on mine, mine was sticker of $68,XXX and the one I built on GMCs website was $67,XXX, I'm sure the difference was the destination charge. I am curious if they are trying to sell the leftover '21's as '22's and just calling them "Limited"?

Not sure, maybe they are in process of updating their website throughout the day and there are a few things. Every area is different, but it is about a 4-5 month wait list for an AT4 at any of the dealers. They are about as popular as anything right now. Pretty sure there isn't really any 21 models available to be able to try and turn and get rid of.

They did a 2022 limited version. It's the same as the 2021. They are doing a 2022 refresh available in March

I bought a 5/125k from Jen in Michigan for $850. Is that making somebody rich? Unlike some people here I have had issues with my tundra‘s. One was bought back as a lemon actually. Another Toyota of mine blew a belt right after the warranty expired which would’ve been $550 out-of-pocket. Had a stereo go out on another one right after the factory Warranty expired. That would’ve been over $1000 without the extended warranty. It’s everybody’s choice what they want do. you’re not wrong for getting it and you’re not wrong for not getting it. it’s your choice. No one should knock you for your decisions it’s your money.

So just like the current Tundra, you drive something with a massively outdated/cheap interior. Except you don't get any of the reliability.

    Yeah...haha. o_O

Just excitement since it gets released tonight. How will GMC handle the reveal vs how toyota did? Will it be able to be configured online tonight? Will the payload and towing be similar? How will it be priced?

Haha, yeah something like that..... We have only had it a couple months but zip zilch zero problems so far.

The interior is all leather including dash and trim pieces. I would have said the same thing a couple years ago. I hate to admit it, but it is nicer that the Toyota Platinum by quite a bit and arguably a little better for and finish if I have to be 100% honest.

Really, you don’t like to hear that everything isn’t perfect in the new Tundra. You’re going to be the perfect pigeon for the Toyota salesperson.

….and if you actually look back I do praise some of its features.

Unlike Toyota they’ll have full specs, pricing, and mpg lol. You can configure online and order to a dealer after it goes live.

Go to know. I've been on the fence about both the tundra and the Sierra. Toyota reveal has lost some hype for myself personally that way its been done.

Denali ultimate already exists and isn’t blacked out is that what they’re adding to the package? To me that wouldn’t make sense to add it to the ultimate package but rather have it as a standalone package option. Not everyone will want to black it out but some will.

I haven't seen it mentioned, but I noticed in one of the TFL videos when he was filling up there is still a gas cap. I'm surprised they didn't copy GM on that feature. Maybe it's a patent thing or something?

Capless fillers aren’t just a GM thing so I wouldn’t assume a patent.

im surprised there is no locking fuel door though.

I believe the hybrid will have an interior release fuel door.

I can't remember if I heard in one of the videos that it locks with the doors or if I am just making stuff up in my mind.

Yeah I think it has to by law. Non powerboost fords are manual too. I mean if you can design it for the hybrid just carry across all models

I don't think any full size pickup gets a locking fuel door and I don't understand why. Profit margins aren't high enough, the manufacturers all have to make a few cents more on each one?

I understand this most basic of ideas. I guess I missed where it “must” be unleaded…
