    A bunch
Only about 1 MPG - 2021 ratings 2wd 13/18/15, 4wd 13/17/14. So achievable numbers even for those who only buy 4wd

We would get 12MPG (one MPG less than rated 4X4 city MPG) towing our 4900 pound travel trailer not using cruise control and going very easy on the throttle with our 2016 SR5. If we could get one MPG less than the new 2022 Tundra's 2WD 18MPG city rating while towing our Travel Trailer, would be pleased with 17MPG.

FYI 22 Sierra is live and no price increases. Built out an AT4 loaded yesterday and the price stayed the same.. come on Toyota!

Well maybe not then, I do know other vehicle types have larger discrepancies when moving from 2wd to 4wd. I guess we won't official know until Toyota releases the official mpg numbers.

Yes, GAWR is more about how your GVWR is distributed across the two axles. That 2nd gen rear axle does seem wildly overbuilt, given the trucks we’ve seen that are way over the rating. Honey Badger Tundra don’t care. :D

The guy with all the hay bales on a massive flatbed trailer and one hay bale in the bed (lol) had his axle bearings bite the dust. He was WAY over axle ratings though. If I recall correctly his weak 2nd gen leafs were fine though...
I just want to say I’m impressed that you keep such detailed records, and I share your concerns/disappointments with the capacities of the 3rd gen. The biggest reason for me to trade in for a 3rd gen would have been drastically increased payload capacity. But that’s not what we got. So, I’m staying put.

Did you do that at dealer? I can only build 2021 on gmc.com and it still shows countdown for release tonight for 2022.

Forget the mpg, the auto stop/start function not happening all the time is great!

It’s still going to be annoying. Push the brake to hard and the truck turns off. Also everyone forgets that with the stop/start feature that the truck uses a different battery and starter type. The battery is expensive compared to the traditional battery and the starter is built to a different level which will add to the expense when it comes time to replace these wear components. All this extra expense to have a very marginal amount of mpg gain.

I thought 1689 payload for a loaded 4x4 CC was pretty good actually.

thats well above my CC platinum I have now

Its still not changing the fact that the battery will be expensive when you have to replace it. Also the starter further down the road.

It says Max payload is 1689, are there many options that would bring that down? If they aren't including things like pano sunroof and trailer hitch etc, that payload could drop quite a bit. Max towing is also under 10,000.

What is different about the batteries? is it a different type or just a larger one?

From my understanding built HD to deal with the constant start/stop. It’s a completely different battery from what’s in the old Tundra.

Y'all aren't comparing the right 22 Sierra. The one you see is the 2022 Sierra 1500 Limited, it's not the new refreshed one. The refreshed isn't available until March 22. The 22 Sierra Limited is basically a continuation filler fo the 21 model. I believe Ram did something similar when they did a redesign in 2019.

Yeah I'll be watching the live display for 2022 model. It looks like it's not only interior refresh but some exterior updates too. I always loved the AT4 when it first came out but the quality hasn't been there for me. And if it's the same seats GM it'll be a big miss.

Can confirm. Recently replaced battery with Start/Stop on our '18 Highlander and it cost $350. I shudder to think of the starter. We've made it muscle memory to turn it off as soon as the engine starts.

I just saw the word max payload and assumed that meant that was the highest you could get on the AT4. I don't know what they considered to be options on it though or if it was like the trd pro where it is basically just available in one configuration.

We do the same in our VW. But with the over-use, how much will the switch cost to replace? :eek2:

I believe I read there will be a black out denali version released as well. The denali will get the self driving mode for sure. Definitely has my attention too.

I have 2 buddies that have 2021 AT4's. Not much you can add other than a tech package for the most part. Both of theirs have stickers in the 1560-1580 range.
