My wife's last 4 rigs have been Foresters, she loves them. I don't drive it very often, but when I have, its been pretty impressive, especially in the snow with the AWD.

Might have to give them a test drive when the time comes. These new Wilderness Outback and Forrester models look good. I'm liking that blue.

The newer ones don't seem to have that issue, but the CVT transmission in them isn't as robust.
My daughter's BF can pull an engine out, swap the HG, and have the thing back together in a couple hours...
He's also got a couple of "frankensubies" kicking around at all times...currently he's swapping a JDM engine into a forester that he bought for $2k with a blown engine.

Yeah - he's the one with '98 STI...his dream car (and he got it for about 1/3 what it is worth).

He's got a '98 Outback that be bought for $500 and has actually jumped stumps with.
But he's our family mechanic for all our Subaru needs.

It’s not the getting up early or working late that I dislike. My patience gets thin when people expect long days and don’t use the time wisely.

Both have their advantages in my job. If it's quiet, I prefer nights. I get to surf the forum and do research on all kinds of stuff that eventually winds up costing me money. :annoyed: If SHTF I prefer days because I hate waking people up in the middle of the night to tell them stuff on top of a mountain is broken.

Maybe you should stop breaking stuff on top of a mountain in the middle of the night. :boink:

So what's the topic lately? Know you were researching building a house at one point. Plus the truck mods. There was another topic that I cannot remember off the top of my head...

The house is long term, and still in the air.

Camping set up for the truck is solidly planned, but getting the financials in order will take a bit of time.

Truck mods (aside from the camping stuff) are mostly complete aside from whatever @memario1214 comes up with for the taillight functions. Maybe someday I'll do a bumper, but for now I'm happy with Vera as she stands.

Currently I'm juggling how to sell/trade my RS1 and getting back on a motorcycle. First time around on a bike I did it wrong. Dove in too deep, too fast (that's what she said), and thought it wasn't for me as a result. Well, now I've made it a goal for personal growth to tackle this challenge/adventure and get back on a motorcycle. Just have to figure the logistics of it along with the camping setup for the truck.

That's right, the other topic was the roof top tent.

Good luck with the bike plans...there are always more dreams than money.

I'm sticking to a cheap, efficient bike that should be good for my fairly novice level of experience. If I can sell the RS1, or trade it at a reasonable price it will take a couple thousand off the cost of things. I'm just kinda pinched right now because I was dumb and took on some debt to help a friend. Sadly, they've now decided to ghost me, so it's a bitter debt to pay.

Not quite enduro, not on a hitch mount either, but a muted adventure bike. Honda CB500X. They just redid the thing and shored up two of the grumbles about the older bikes (front suspension and brakes) so I think it's ideal. I'm short, but have longer legs for my height, so the low seat seems ideal. With the 2022 model updates I am really hoping Honda decided the US should get more than just one color, cuz the new green looks great with the gold shocks up front.

Sorry to hear about that. I never loan money to friends or family for just that reason. Too easy to lose both. But I'm sure your heart was in the right place so at least you were the good guy.

Oh, I don't loan to friends or family either. It was a gift to help with a crappy situation. I was going to be paying for it either way and did so voluntarily. I'm just bummed that my friend bailed. C'est la vie.

So you'll randomly wake up at 2:30 AM? That's the BS my inner clock pulls.

First night shift always has crappy/odd sleep for me. Sometimes I just can't sleep, or like today, I fall asleep way to early and wind up awake at 10-11 AM and have to be to work at 5:30 PM. At least today I was able to squeeze a nap in for a couple hours right before shift. Still feel half dead, but I should sleep well after work.
