We've had several instances of people roaming our subdivision just checking for open car doors. Nothing major has been stolen, but still don't like someone to be rummaging through my truck if I have to leave it outside and forget to lock it. Cameras and lights are great, but easy to defeat with a hoody and keeping your head down.

I would have to have a minimum of a three car garage before I would park a second one in it. I like to use my garage for storage, and I hate having to squeeze in and out of my car. I park in the driveway and let my wife park in the garage.

If you're getting 12 mpg in the second gen, I'd think you'd be closer to 15 mpg with the new one than 20.

yeah even though i live in a small town (actually all major cities in ND are small) i come from a big city before being transplanted to ND. i lock everything and keep nothing in the vehicle in plain sight or even hints that something is there to cause someone to think there is something to steal. heck i keep the back seats down in the 4runner so anyone can see nothing is in the back. the city i am in is under 50k

    Code:

I'm not following on less interior storage. Could you elaborate?

depends on the model you get, if you get a 2nd gen double cab you had under seat storage, if you get the 3rd gen double cab with hybrid you lose under seat storage.

old platinum had no storage period, new one w/o hybrid actually gets under seat storage now. so it really depends on your perspective.

CM has less rear head/leg room I believe.

Isn't the seat folding system different from the current making it difficult or impossible to fold anywhere near flat? I thought I saw that in a video. It also looks like the 2nd gen floor is a flatter (less of a hump) making it easier to take advantage of the floor, but I may be mistaken.

I thought the hybrid was CM only. So my thinking was:

    2.5 DC has storage
3 DC has storage so no change from current

    2.5 CM no storage
3 CM non hybrid gains storage
3 CM hybrid no storage so no change from current

I was just thinking of the rear under seat storage and hadn't considered other aspects. However, the 2.5 rear floor is not flat and the hump under the seats severelt limits what you can put under them when they're down. I was hoping for improvements in this area.

Unladen mpg should improve, we have yet to see what it will get when it's being used as a truck.

yes correct, brain fart on the DC layout.

3G CM hybrid, at least you get behind the rear passenger seat storage, which the 2G CM doesnt.

yeah the 2G CM doesnt have a flat floor so the 3G CM isnt much different, so no gain/loss IMO.

I also do believe both DC and CM allow the back seats to fold down as well.

Does anyone have the length of the 2022 crewmax 5.5? The 2021 barely fits in my garage so I need to make sure the 2022 is not longer.

Not a fan of UniFi routers. Mines a backup to my custom appliance running untangle ngfw. A lot more protection, customization and monitoring. I do like UniFi access point and have protect as well. Running 2 AC-HD’s and a new LR6 AP’s.

You forgot it's a tad uglier but it could grow on people. The gen 2 wasn't much to look at either.

the udm pro is better than the orbi or the synology routers i was using. its just me and the wife and overall the udm works great for what i need which isnt much. mostly i run this setup for the ap's as about 1/2 my stuff is wifi connections outside of critical stuff that is hardwired. tv's, roku, secondary wifi camera's, phones, thermostat, treadmill.

saving up for a pfsense, but i want the 10gb appliance, which is a tad out of my budget right now as i have other priorities with the daughters new son and son buying his first house solo (25yr old single).

You forgot it's a tad uglier too but it could grow on people over time. After all the Gen2 is nothing much to look at but it is prettier than the new one.
