That rubber isolator or whatever it's called should not look like that. Someone rushed the assembly or something else is going on. I would be surprised if thats whats causing reverse full lock noise, though. Unless maybe there is play in the coilover, but you would probably hear that other times as well. Did it look like that after install? Dust covers fall when they tear or the clip is bad. Its just a push in. UCAs should be sitting at the same angle when level, unless level is being determined wrong. Spindles are the same height, most people measure from center hub to fender to account for tire size, etc. But if you are only concerned with your truck side to side, measure top of rim/wheel (not tire) to fender - it's easier to be accurate.

Loaded it, unloaded it. Party. Loaded it, unloaded it. Looked at it and considered wrenching. Decided rest.

I was messing with my new projectors a bit today. I talked myself into etching TRD on the lens, but I can't get the friggin thing off... It won't fit between the lens holder frame and the reflector bowl. The lens frame is also riveted to the bowl. I guess it's grind the rivets off and drill new holes or these babies don't get etched. The problem is the rivets are built into the bowl casting and are both small and close to the edge of the flange. Not sure I want to eff these up for a little TRD etch that nobody may even notice. Then again nobody notices anything else I've done to my truck and it hasn't changed my opinion anyway.

I've had maybe 3-5 people ever say anything about my truck haha. They all work with me too. I think it's mostly someone saw me gliding the speed bump into the parking lot at 15mph and they tried it in there car and realized something was different here.

Just replaced the 20yo stereo tape deck with wireless CarPlay. I feel like I have traveled ahead in time!

A guy in my old car club etched the lenses on his car chemically. He had the design cut out of some plastic tape, applied it to the lens and then either brushed or sprayed it on. Similar to how they do or did wine glass monograms back in the day. Just a thought.

I tried etching paste on my last projectors and it didn't really work. What worked perfectly was some fine media in a cheap blasting gun.

My problem isn't etching or getting the stencil, but rather getting the lense out of the projector.

Alright that was my thinking as well. Will call them in the AM. I looked back at the pictures from the build and it looked the same way, I'm not sure why I missed this or it missed their QC check. I think it was installed like this. Will see what's going on. Something's up for sure. Off to go measure side to side right now.

Got some other things done today. Fixed the play in my driver's side door by tightening the nut the best I could by hand. It's a super tight fit in there unless I'm missing something.
    IMG_6552.jpg
Replaced both the broken driver's and passenger's interior door handles. They are darker gray than the OEM ones, but they match other parts of the trim, so I don't think they look bad. And the function well. I had to work on the lock stop a little bit to get the stop to hold the grommet properly. It was a bit undersized vs. the OEM one.
    IMG_6553.jpg
And finally re-wired my backup camera and replaced it with one that can actually see at night instead of becoming useless as soon as the sun goes down. Took the opportunity to re-solder the connections everywhere with the marine solder butt joint connectors. I still may tweak the reference lines or turn them off on my Kenwood receiver. It's nice angle and view.
    IMG_6557.jpg
Also happy to report no passenger leaking from the cowl clips. We had a downpour yesterday and it's dry. Been chasing that for two years.

On the topic of door handles, you got me beat @Openbaffle

The fading of the stickers on my locks is a huge itch on my asshole, always has been, complained here many times about it. OEM replacement handles weren't too horribly expensive so I got them a while back, maybe even last year? I forget. Went to swap out today, but didn't realize you gotta pull the door card to get to the 2nd screw, about 1.5" behind the lock. Didn't have time for that after doing the stuff I mention below the pic.

    IMG_4609.jpg
However, I did get some constructive things done today to fix other niggling issues that were bugging the bejezus out of me.

I'm still waiting (wtf) for the Bussmann add-a-circuit cables to arrive, so I just broke down and figured "what the hell", popped off my passenger side a-pillar, and ran the extra-long USB cable gives with their GPS units along the headliner, flashing taped to a-pillar, behind the glovebox and to the center, neatly, and I think I'm just going to live with this for a while, do a final wiring when I finally wire up the Gentex mirror. No pics of that.

My mic hasn't been working on my head unit, so I've been dumping calls or breaking the law periodically by using my phone the old fashioned way. Figured 'screw it', popped out the head unit while I'm in here doing stuff. Sure enough, the damn mic cable was inserted but apparently I didn't push it in the last 1-2mm so it locks into place. Neither was the other connecter next to it, whatever it was. So I pushed that in too.

After confirming it worked, I put it all together again, but not before I finally doing something about the mic itself. I've had it sitting in my center console until I wire the mirror up, planning to run it all at the same time because the factory visor clip - I think - is garbage. I started looking at the clip though, which is c-shaped, like a garage door opener clip. Realized it's just thin enough to sit on the bezel of my instrument cluster.

After a test fit to confirm, took some tin snips and modified the mic clip. Cut the clip to leave me the installation ball with about 1" metal Rounded my edges, then deburred everything. Stuck it in the bench vice and gave it a new 90° bend to give some new mic positioning options.

    Original clip looked like so

    upload_2021-10-17_20-53-24.jpg

    My modified clip like so:

    IMG_4610.jpg

I then proceeded to pop the gauge cluster bezel off (who knew you needed to remove the two bolts for the keyhole trim?) and installed the mic in what I felt was a more logical and meaningful location where it wouldn't be perturbed by wind noise and other crap. Although I'm sure my keys smacking against the dash on bumpy roads might be a little annoying, but I don't normally take calls while I'm offroad. (Now I just need to get my damn reverse camera wired up...)

Oh yeah, and on a non-Tundra note, my day started with me pulling the bumper skin off my wife's '12 Highlander because some asshole in a rusty beater truck hit and run on her last weekend. Didn't do a ton of damage but managed to clip the rear corner of the sheet metal and gouge it, plus rubbed all the paint off a section of bumper skin.

Had to pull the bumper skin so I could work the sheetmetal, naval jelly the wound because some of his rust landed in the gash his truck made. Cleaned that up, sanded everything down, hit it with bare metal etching primer, then topcoat with 2 coats regular primer. Need to get some color match and 2K clear to finish the job.

People piss me off. If you're going to get pissed off in traffic, and you do something like hit someone else, wish people had the decency to own up to their f-up and pony up the cash so you don't leave them with your bag of shit in-hand.

Pressure washed my seatbelts a couple days ago. Unbolted the top seatbelt guide to get the belt out as far as possible. Had to keep the belt tight so got a bit creative. (Yeah I could have pulled the lower mount bolt too but this worked pretty well.)
    20211016_151747.jpg
Mostly did this to help it retract better but it sure was dirty.
    20211016_151739.jpg
If your seatbelt even slightly struggles to go back in I highly recommend this. As well as the PB blaster brand silicone lubricant as recommended by PHM. Goes in smooth and on its own now.

Did you spary the silicone all over the seatbelt? Or just on a certain section

Yep. Well dropped the truck back off at the shop this morning for them to check out the suspension install and what the hell is going on.

Also I am likely so late to the party here, but these things are life changing.

I like those wire connectors but sometimes I feel like the solder doesn't melt and if you give it to much heat the shrink melts.

I like that you can pull the bump stop to trim the bolts down. Smack those things when you can and let us know if its better than stock, I too have a set of those waiting to go on.

Exactly. Takes some skill. Helps to have a fancy heat gun which can control temp well. But usually they are used in a spot where I'd prefer the cordless gun with only low/high.

I tend to just crimp nowadays. But in a pinch for low current, they get the job done adequately.

I didn't use very much of it. I think cleaning it did the most good. I'd say you can coat as much of it as you want. I didn't notice any staining or anything from spraying it.

Glue in worked pretty good. they’re in, but judging by the bunny ears i glued on, its still soft. Just a touch of squeeze out, had to nip the corner of the bottom of the tube, cause the top was clogged.

white adhesive is noticable, but not outstanding against chrome.

I dropped in some 3000k LED bulbs instead of the 6000k ones I had in there, but I don't know. Don't love it. Maybe it's the cool of everything else gray in the interior of the car, but it feels off to me. Tough to tell from the picture. Might put the 6k ones back and return these.

Probably didn't have the shock body and coil lined up correctly prior to install then tried aligning them by twisting them into place after and distorted the isolator. Shoddy workmanship and lack of pride. Didn't feel like doing it correctly and wanted to save time and maximize $$$.

I've got that Gentex 177 mirror on it's way. This is what I have above my mirror right now (I have a 2006 DC SR5). Can I use this to power the auto dimming mirror or do I have to wire it down and around the headliner. I don't see any other harness wired up there currently.
