Did you check your spare? Sometimes they place TPMS sensors in those...

Ya maybe stock tires...off road tires you nee more.
Check the spare...worse comes to worse, can you go to DT or some other tire shop to check for a small pinhole?

Psi is psi - tire size makes no difference. 35psi in a 31" is still 35psi in a 40" while the volume of air is different.

LT vs P rated tires now is what you need to look at. LT tires typically have a higher psi rating needed, but this is all load dependant so you will need to reference the tire mfg specs.

Tpms sensors don't know what kind of tire you have, its simply taking a reading and throwing a light due to pressure differences. Sounds like maybe that 10psi difference front to back may be the issue? Based off an OEM calibrated difference of 3psi front to back, sees a difference of 10psi and is confused. Not sure how long you have been driving with that high of a difference.

I started a poll at TT regarding the psi people are running with e-rated tires (80 psi max). The most common value seems to be 45 front and rear.

This is the confusing part: I purchased Nitto Trail Grappler from Discount Tire. They recommended 35 psi front and rear. A reputable local shop recommended 65 psi front and rear. To add to the confusion, I contacted Nitto and they recommended 38 psi in front and 40 psi in the rear. Currently I am running 50 psi front and rear (I was worried about severe dip in temperature this past winter), but am planning to go with 45 front and rear pretty soon. I tend trust the collective experience of Tundra enthusiasts over other recommendations.

LT275/70/R18's ...........Non tow: 51psi, heavy tow (rarely)
My Niito M/T' LT275/70/R18's Non tow 51 psi, The rare heavy long haul tow:75psi all the way around. Tire wear has been even. 35 way too low for E with these tires.

I would run 40 front/rear or 45/40....65 is way too high and your tires will suffer.

A quick test is to look at your tread print on a wet surface like concrete or hard sand to check for over/under inflation. When I got my truck, the tires were at 40 psi all the way around and very noisy. Just didn't feel right when cornering too, so I bumped them up to 50 psi and they ride and sound much better. At least in my case. The tread pattern was even on test print check. http://freeasestudyguides.com/tire-wear-patterns.html

yep bank account is running low from it..
I agree plus higher the psi in the tire the smaller the patch is on the road for traction that in turn can lead to problems with your tires cupping or wearing out faster and or very little traction in wet or snow.

I went out and double checked my tires. The rears are at approx 44 and the front are approx 46. They were at 40 when I got my truck a year ago. I don't know why I thought I put 50 psi. Old fart memory loss.

Im running 44 in the rear and 41 in the front on my new Toyo AT2's. Thinking about bumping them up because Im seeing the middle a little lower than the outside (concave) when looking at top of the tire. I would have thought 40 psi would be more than enough. Maybe Im just being paranoid.

If your wearing the middle of the tread quicker your over inflated.

^^ Brand new tires. Just installed yesterday. In the case I described, I would be wearing the outer part first.

Your'e heavier up front. Try them at 45 or so and see how that goes.

Can you please explain how being under inflated wears the inside quicker?

    Screenshot_2015-05-14-18-37-15.jpg

Nvm I see what your saying. You dont see tire wear you simply see the tire itself concave.

If for example the tread print is not even with less imprint in the middle of the tread print, then tire is under inflated. Sides wear quicker in this situation. If the center of the tread was imprinted and the sides were not, then over inflated. I think mdavis was describing the former. Less tread in the center not totally in contact with the ground so to speak.

When I upgraded my tires to a more aggressive off road tire, Discount Tires put mine at 40psi. I haven't noticed a difference from the 30/33 stock suggestions, and ride is still great. No problems on or off road.

My TPMS light just came on coming back from the store. Probably because of 40/45 rear/front psi difference. Raining too hard now to bother with it. Probably set them all to 40.

I tried the reset procedure with no luck so I drove to the stealer. Turns out that even tough the previous owner spent 2.5K for rims/tires, he went cheapo and went with out TPMS stems! :homer::homer::homer::homer::homer::homer::homer::homer::homer:

I know why... When I changed my wheels and tires last week the stealership got me for $310 for the sensors and $118 to program them. I was in shock! :annoyed:
