PowerBrakes Kit… Calipers/Rotors/stainless brake lines… Only a couple of days old… haven’t had a chance to test them out… They were recommended to me by my mechanic for towing my trailer… they dissipate heat well.. I guess :notsure:… They look sexy as sh*t though…

Made a little progress on interior chrome delete. Anyone have a tip on removing the shift gate piece? Couldn't get the d#*% thing out.

If I remember right, it's plastic welded on the back side. You have to remove the whole console piece.

Test fit my new ReadyRamp. They had been out of stock for a while, so I jumped on these. Yes, it does fit with the Total Chaos bed stiffeners! Now I'd like to know what's the best way to stiffen the tailgate for loading my motorcycle?

Your tailgate can handle the weight of the bike rolling in and out of the bed no problem. I’ve loaded my bike in and out of trucks for years and never once had an issue

So to get that chrome piece off, pull the trim panel off . The whole panel comes off as pictured. There are 2 screws on the shifter assembly to remove it.. On the bottom you will see where the chrome is attached by 5 or so plastic pins that are melted in place. I used needle nose pliers to carefully twist those off. The chrome can now be removed. When I put mine back together, there was enough pin material left in the hole that I used a soldering iron to melt it to the surrounding plastic of the hole. After I did that, I took the pieces that I twisted off and melted those back into them as well. I did mine a year ago and have not had any issues at all.

Is the trans cooler noticeable when looking at the truck through the grill?

You’ll have to take that whole center section out and break it loose from underneath. Very easy to remove, just pry up from underneath the console lid but AJT makes a piece you can just snap over it.

Once the console parts are off, there are two little tabs on either side of the plate that lift up just a bit to allow the whole thing to lift off. You'll get one side up and it'll re-seat itself when you're working the other side, so right-lane patience and resisting the urge to pry harder won't come that easy. Once it's off, there are some plastic welds on the under-side of the plate to dremel off to get the chrome separated from the rest of the piece. I used 600-grit sandpaper on the chrome to try and get the SEM trim black paint to stick, and I'm happy with the result. I like the AJT pieces just fine, but am happier having painted. I did the shifter, the silver dash piece, the steering wheel silver, the steering wheel emblem, and the vent rings the same day. It was a kinda long day, but it's done.

Here’s a better pic. One guy in the cooler thread painted his black with some radiator paint but I kinda like it peeking through.

After a brief 7 month wait for the backorder, got the RSI Smart Cap. The bed rails were able to be used and not removed which was great.

While he won't ride back there, Moose had to check it out.

Thanks for the tip. Once I knew what I was looking for it popped off in 10 secs. I did pretty much same approach you describe on cup holder/silver trim yesterday. Will post pic of shift gate once dry and installed. Cheers!

Reinstalled my skid this morning after getting the suspension all buttoned up and aligned. Fitted a 35” spare under the truck after some surgery with an angle grinder to the spare tire guides. Clears the shackles by about 3/16” on each side and about 2” from the dual exhausts.

Nice! As @Toe404 said you don't need to do anything to the gate.

On the ReadyRamp itself, my dad has used one on his 2005 Tundra since new, and it's been awesome. We do run a couple tie downs from the chain loops on the hitch to about the middle of the ramp on one of the rungs and snug it, just do make sure the ramp won't pop up or move when the bike is on it. Then once the ramp is in the 'bed extender' form, you can take the tie downs and run them up and over the bottom to keep it from bouncing around at all. The straps they give you don't work too bad though. Not a great photo but you can get the idea.
