What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Installed the Cali Raised Molle Panels for the side of the bed. Only challenge is when keeping your anchor points in place, the screws aren't long enough on the cab side of the bed if you use the washers. Will have to get longer screws later. Should be good to keep things off the bed floor though.

 

Drove the family out to Big South Fork today. Hiked the Angel Falls overlook trail as well as the Twin Arches trail. About 8 miles worth of fairly technical trails according to my Fenix GPS. It was a good day.

Would probably give you a nice smell, might not filter much. Mine was pretty filthy after a year, these were pretty cheap, considering.

I test fit a front car guard that a coworker convinced me to draw up.

 

Installed Kenwood DMX1057XR w/ Maestro RR, Sirius receiver and HDMI/USB input in the cig lighter location.






Initial review…everything is perfect except AirPlay, which is super disappointing. At this point I’m almost certain the problem is with Apple and I’m waiting for them to fix. In the meantime I’m just using Bluetooth. Still will be upgrading rest of stereo, but the head unit upgrade alone was a surprising improvement in sound quality.

 

How long did you have to wait for them to be built and where did you order?

#1 reason for an onboard compressor

 

Where did you get it? I have been trying for a long time to get ahold of a 1007XR and am looking at the 1057XR but they have all been back ordered for many, many months.

 

I lived up there for about 4 years and totaled my rental on day 4 of my move to the state. Hope that the Grouse hunting was good. I am heading up there end of October and the 1st week of November to do some Pheasant hunting with family.

Sure is and then cost me another 100 for shipping but I was already into for the horns and tank so said screw all in or nothing.

 

They are the 730 Demon train horns from kleinn air horns. They sell a complete kit with compressor, horns, tank, mount and harnesses. I pieced mine together since O already had the arb twin compressor.

 

You got that right...already had the compressor and always wanted the tank and horns so it was time to pull the trigger.

What is it?

If those are horns, I'd be worried that mounting them forward facing, under the truck they're going to get a lot of dirt and debris inside the horns.

 

Train horns and they get mounting facing to the side or rear to keep debris out of the diaphrams.

Yes they are horns. Apparantley water and dirt isnt an issue. This is the mount that the company sells and thats the direction that they say to place them. They have a slight lean to them so water runs out if it does happen to get in. Not to mention when you hit the button anything in its path is going to come out. Between the blast and the vibrations water dont stand a chance. You can feel your chest rattle if you are standing beside the truck when set off. Also not much different than horns mounted on the top of the cab of a truck unless your crossing water ofcourse, which I dont plan on doing in this truck. Thats how I totaled my Tacoma...lesson learned.

 

Thats what I thought too but the directions had me mount them facing the diff with this mount. However honestly you can face them any direction you wanted just by spinning the mount since its only held up by the spare tire hoist.

 

Thought about it but havent really decided where I wanna mount it yet. Plus not really concerned about it since its a stock spare rim and tire. Now when I get my new lift wheels and 35s that will be a different story. Ofcourse I say that however Im sure if it happens Ill be changing my tone but then Ill only have myself to blame...lol

 

Lol....the stock ones are being stolen.

 

Put a lock on the chain so it cant be lowered lol. Thieves will take anything.
