Are y'all doing the math yourselves or the computer? Maybe it's the double cab magic or the tonneau, but I get 17-18mpg pretty regularly (and 550+ per tank). I do a decent amount of highway miles on my roadtrips, but there's a lot of Wyoming backroads at 40-60mph and dirt roads. It drops significantly in winter with more cold starts, but I've never seen anything close to 10.

You’re running stock tires too (less weight, and less drag). And probably not a lot of city miles. That 40-60mph back roads is a sweet spot for mpg.

You’re right I’m not accounting for tire size. I also like to step on it.

    Coach builder +3 shackles
    Coachbuilder bumper shims.
    Method 701 18x9 +25 offset
    35x12.5 KO2s
    Caliraised sliders - step edition
    Diamondback HD cover.

    so far love it! 7B30CA2D-CC7D-400B-A3AD-12A0FF8DE8E1.jpg

Ha! Yup. I work out of the house, so I barely drive during the week. I have under 1,700 miles on it and I've had it since the start of May. I did the math when I crossed over 1,000 and I was on pace for like 3,200 miles a year all at 9ish MPG.

I’m about to hit 6,000 miles and have heard no difference in exhaust sounds. I just couldn’t tell the difference. It sounds good to me either way.

As far as acceleration it did bog down a bit for a few thousand miles and now seems much better. But if you really want power just put it in tow haul mode.

My average so far is 15.5 MPG. In the beginning it was showing 9-11 per tank.

I hit 18.5 driving down to Saratoga NY last weekend, I was impressed with that average. Otherwise I’m closer to 14-15 driving to work

Haven’t had time to post my first few changes to the truck nothing major though, just bakflip mx4, weather tech HP’s front and rear, ajt v2 lunar rock color key fob and oem bed mat.

Saturday taking it in for tint, looking to do 15% over the privacy glass rears, and probably 15% up front with a 70% or 80% front window, ceramic all around.

what’s everyone’s opinion on tinting the moonroof? Waste of money, or does it really help block heat into the cab? Mine lives outside so any little bit to help those 110+ Arizona summers.

In FL, so also miserably hot and my truck won't fit in the garage. I tinted the moonroof and didn't really notice much. That said, I think it was only like another $50 on an already far-too-expensive tint job. I did 40% on the rear windows and moonroof, 15% on the fronts, and clear 70% on the windshield. All Xpel XR+. Would just do XR and probably skip the moonroof if I did it over again.

The place I’m going to did my Tacoma but did not do ceramic, then I’ve had dozens of friends use him for tundras and Tacoma’s, so I’m going back to them again. They are a suntek dealer so I’m pretty sure his ceramic is by then as well, my over the phone quote was $260 for normal tint and $175 for window, then $395 for cermic, and $275 for window, so little under $700 lifetime warranty blah blah.

Prices obviously vary wildly by market, but I was north of that for XR+ and it would've been around the range for XR, as I recall. That's probably Suntek CIR, which is quality stuff as well.

Yah, pretty sure it’s the cir as well. It’s one of those bite the bullet for a good job and quality product, and let it do it’s job in helping protect from the sun. Biggest part of the tundra upgrade from the Tacoma was the kids in the backseat having there own air conditioning vents and good quality tint for helping keep the sun off them and cool.

Yes, I told him there are multiple threads on tundras dedicated to 295’s on Tundras and I’ve never once heard of anyone hitting the UCA. Some have mentioned that it’s close, but never that it touched. He maintained that it did.

Just got my Lunar Rock on September 29th, what a beautiful truck. I got to page 20 and couldn't wait to brag about it. I came from a 2019 tacoma off road in cement and loved it but my daughters needed some space in the back seat so I started looking for a tundra. I said what the hell let's go for the best looking one and started my search for the Pro. Little did I know but managed to find 2 in the Houston area so I went with the least expensive 57k and some change. While waiting for my trade in appraisal I was excited they offered 40 for my tacoma and I said let's do it. The salesman took another 15 mins and came back with some numbers. While he's reading the price, my trade, the options he says oh and 15k markup totaling 73k. I was so disappointed after spending over an hour there and he never mentioned any markups. I politely ask for my keys and left.
I called the other dealership but somebody had already put a deposit and the truck was still in San Antonio. They called me the next day and said yes before I answered the phone the guy had canceled and I was second in line so I put a deposit. I ask what was the markup and they said nothing whatever the sticker says. It came with factory add-ons and some dealer add-ons but not 15k. I was having second thoughts but I told myself, it's the last 5.7 trd pro what the hell. My trade wasn't 40k but got what I paid for 30 months ago. There's no way I would've bought a 60k truck but was able to due to my trade and only finance 40k. So excited to be here and reading yalls stories and mods and what not. I feel lucky to have the last model year 5.7 TRD PRO. I couldn't wait 4 to 5 years for the new 22, one of my daughters will be in college by then. I wanted to give them some comfort while they're still here. Not just comfort but the safety and reliability the 2nd gen is known for. Thank you all again for letting me part of this special group.

Which scumbag dealer in Houston asking for 15k over MSRP?

Congrats on the new/old Tundra, 6 month from now people will wish they bought the greatest V8 Tundra ever

Keating toyota in Manvel,Tx was the one with the markup, don't go there.
Fred Haas toyota world is where I bought mine. No markup but 795 for tint on front driver and passanger windows only, 995 for the catylitic converter cover which is just another skid plate and another item for 300 that don't remember what it was. I had to pay what they were asking, there was somebody already waiting for me to let go of the truck.

I was able negotiate those things off. But I got the skid plate uninstalled . Sitting in my garage.

I did use a fleet sales person though from a forum so that’s prob why

I got my LR about a month ago for $55k. I had to travel from GA to KY to get it. I already got the windows tinted, got the LR key fob, and the vanity plate :). Monday I'm getting 20x9 Fuels on 275/60/20 BFG KO2's, AMP steps, and Bakflip MX4. Can't wait.

    Hell of a day today.

Got up at O dark thirty to work out, backed out of the garage and heard a noise. Turns out the garbage bin wasn't put away fully and I had just run my truck along the handle. Post workout it was light enough to see a long horizontal mark running the length of the bed. Really thankful it doesn't look too deep. :itllbuffout:

Later I jump in the shower then run out to an appointment I'm late to. Blow by a cop and sure enough he lights me up. 39 in a 25, shouldn't have bragged about my driving skills in this forum. Pull over...hand over the paperwork and wait. He comes back and says "slow down and have a nice day....oh and nice truck".

NICE TRUCK. How do you like that. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say the lunar rock just got me out of a ticket.

    How was YOUR day today?
