Me too. I really want the rear diff lock on the platinum so if the spec sheet is true, there is an optional package for that. But I think I may be the only one that actually likes that massive stock platinum grill over the black TRD grille.

Same here, just don't understand the reasoning behind Toyota offering the off road package on 1794 but not on the platinum.

Platinum trim looks way better exterior wise with less chrome and less offensive grill.

Guess it will be 1794 for me , then forking out $$$ for dechroming it, or Platinum and fork out $$$ for lift and tires.

the pricing i will be using is hypothetical so dont quote me, just using it to get a point across...

well by that logic, no point in having a limited/platinum/1794. just make one model and charge 55k for it with all the options you can get.

either get a SR5 / 1794 / TRD Pro and have pricing segments to live with.

    40k SR
    45k SR5
    55k Platinum
    60k for 1794
    65k for TRD Pro

or have more break points so you can segment out the pricing better.

    40k SR
    45k SR5
    50k Limited
    55k Platinum
    60k 1794
    65k TRD Pro

I’m not sure I classify storage as luxury but I get your point. I just like to keep some survival stuff in there that I’ll hopefully never need.
I generally prefer the SR5. It’s what I have now and I just change out the grille and headlights to match the looks of the pro.

I somewhat disagree with you on the purpose of the Pro. I feel like the Tundra Pro has always been marketed as a very capable offroad truck that still keeps all the other capabilities as well. Kind of a truck that will pull your camper to the campsite and then allow you to go offroading once there. Whereas the Raptor and TRX are more of a purpose built off-road truck, the Tundra Pro is more of a jack of all trades that excels at offroading. With that said, I wish they offered the tow mirrors and trailer backup assist on them.

yeah unfortunately what toyota views the TRD Pro and what it needs to fill the correct check boxes at corporate are not exactly inline with the enthusiasts that wanted more from the new TRD Pro. or for that matter any of the trims and how they fill certain check points that the bean counters and what not hitting certain thresholds to meet goals.

right now my trim is the platinum, but from what i can tell all the standard features are exactly in line with what we want as a general toyota buyer exactly.

granted the optional add-ons and the package layout is almost perfect (for us) the only thing that rubs me the wrong way is the hud system being tied to the AVS and rear bag leveling system is tied to the HUD system. this questions my choice of do we really need the hud system for 2 systems that we will probably never use in the life of the vehicle or maybe 1-2 in 5-7 yrs.

right now we can live with a no additional package or options tacked on and be happy with the new platinum. pano roof? standard, heated steering wheel? standard, etc that the other lower trims dont have as standard or in a package/option set.

the added benefit, the least amount of chrome (with what little chrome there is in our opinion is tasteful)

and the 1794 has always been the chrome luxury version of the platinum cause you will be surprised how many people that buy tundra's think chrome = luxury no matter the brand. and since people that buy the 1794 like they interiors that come with that model, they think its the pinnacle of luxury with chrome and that unique interior color.

at least toyota caters to both sides of the fence with the platinum/1794 people.

Chrome is one thing, but I think it's also the wood in the interior. I can't explain the hold it has on me, but especially if it's the open pore stuff, I can't get enough of it. I don't know why either, it makes no sense. This isn't a Rolls Royce or a Morgan, it's a truck. Even when I know it's fake but tastefully done, I still love it. Piano black wood is stupid. What a waste.

The Pro has always been missing features though, even in previous gen. It's not really the "top of the line" trim like so many think it is. It's just a Limited model with fancy shocks, a slight lift, and a bunch of cosmetics.

Does anyone know about interior color choices? I really don’t want a monotone black or gray interior. Personally I like the red that’s on the TRD PRO, I guess it’s an exclusive color.

pro's or sport themed toyota's have alway had unique colored seats or inserts lately. it appeals to a small subset of toyota general buying public but otherwise most general toyota people dont care for the wild colors.

I know you said not to quote you on the pricing but it's pretty far off. the Platinum/1974 trims are going to be in the same range as the TRD Pro, not cheaper by up to 10 grand.

I think a more realistic prediction is:

    35-40k SR
    40-45k SR5
    50-55k Limited
    60-65k Pro/Platinum/1974

I haven't seen anything yet but I'm also curious to find out. I do know the red is exclusive to Pro and I believe the beige is exclusive to 1974. I've seen black and grey leather in the prototypes so safe to assume those two will be available in all trim levels. I've only seen the cloth seats in grey so far.

Personally I'm still debating between grey and black for my Pro on the inside, and I'm between White and Lunar Rock for the outside.

In talking to a few dealers, I think the difference is going to be that the Pro is more likely to get marked up than the platinum and 1794.

Probably. The Pro is going to be more desirable than the Platinum/1974 trims I believe. It's why I hopped on the list weeks ago because I think if you wait until pricing is out and orders are being placed, it will be too late. The key is to find a good dealer you trust that won't do any markups, or at least will tell you any up front.

Is that confirmed? That would be disappointing. That's similar to the F150 5.0 and less than the F150 ecoboost.

    This ^^^

If you like having the "latest and greatest", you're going to be disappointed with Toyota pretty much every time. They aren't interested in being first... they just want to do it better.

It reminds me of a principle I learned a while back about how being first to market isn't always the best

Yes it's confirmed. And the eco-boost barely beats it, you probably won't even notice a difference between the two in real-world driving. I don't think the numbers are super impressive, but they're also not disappointing. Just meh, same level that every other truck is at right now.

well for argument sake let go with a $5-7k markup to current pricing at the baseline no options/packages

1st number is current starting price / 2nd number is markup range of 5-7k

    Code:
               SR 34k = 39-41k
              SR5 37k = 42-44k
          Limited 42k = 47-49k
    Plat/1794/TRD 49k = 54-56k

add in $2k for hybrid models

add in $2k for shipping (forgot to add, current shipping is $1800 but battery weight will jump this up to 2k probably)

add in options and packages at current pricing and yeah you are getting closed to 63-65k msrp for the top 3 trims excluding dealer market adjustment window sticker.

I think this is pretty spot on and what I'm expecting to be released at the end of the month. There are dealerships out there that won't do a market adjustment, and I'm certainly not paying anything other than MSRP unless I'm aware of it going in and it's not an outrageous amount.

I think their little under-seat organizer tray on non-hybrid models is annoying too. Just leave the space empty so I can slide stuff under the seat without lifting it up. I have 2 small kids and 2 car seats in my truck, so lifting the seat would require removing the kids seats. The F150 is nice and open under there. Also provides for a great big storage area when seats are folded up if you ever need it.

Also...lack of flat floor in the back is disappointing. Its a simple and nice feature. I heard its because Toyota insists on having hybrid cabling running inside the cab, so the raised hump in the floor is used as a conduit for those.

    THANK YOU VERY MUCH :bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

I have been wading through 50+ pages of absolute garbage on here but you have supplied something new.

From that it looks like TRD Pro is officially no-option, which IMO is fantastic for me and should make getting one from horrible Gulf States Toyota much easier.

Only drawback for me is lack of the digital mirror, which appears to be exclusive to 1794 and Platinum. Would have been cool but I'll get over it.

Also first time I have seen an official list of TRD Pro colors from Toyota --- solar octane, lunar rock, super white, midnight black metallic.

Doesn't look like we'll get army green, supersonic red on TRD pro. Kind of a bummer but I was probably going to be boring and go lunar rock or super white anyway.

I'd do $38 max for DC SR 4x4.
