I bought a hitch mount reverse light/brake light/turn signal online. It uses the 4 wire trailer wiring. Has anyone figured a way out to wire this better? My last truck, I could unplug from the back of the bumper and put in a splitter. I’d like a cleaner look.
    Thanks,

    Gary

Contact @Puppypunter he makes plug and play wire taps. I bet he could hook you up.

You could use this, just unplug it from behind the bumper and plug it it and zip tie the extra wires.

As mentioned, the trailer connections are definitely on way to go. The light you bought, does it have independent inputs for turn signals and brake? Because the only real downside to using a trailer wiring tap is that the turn and brake are combined signals. If you want separate taps, I can definitely help you out there. We can grab everything you need from behind the taillights, all plug and play. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you need anything (including just help with a trailer wiring tap).

That looks like a good option. I’ll check it out. I am going to see if I’m able to unplug from behind the bumper before making the purchase. Thanks!

You can. That's how I hooked up my light.

Yeah, looking at that, I think you’d be good with a trailer connection. I haven’t started getting into those… yet o_O But since they are using a 4 pin, and it independently drives the turn signals, there is some internal logic capable of separating the two in that unit.

ok, cool. I’m fairly technical. Just don’t want to mess anything up. Is it easy to take apart?
