Does anyone have the 10” JBL loaded sub box from Tech 12 installed in their 2021 limited? According to James, some of the 21’s came with a lower power amp which wouldn’t drive his box very well. I’m very interested in his box and adding just a little more bass to the system. Worst case is, I would need to add a small amp to power the loaded box.

@Bergy24 , your gonna end up buying all the components and won’t stop after the sub purchase……
Just choose the box (single or dual) that your going to build the rest of your system from.

it’s not a question of if, it’s one of when

Most likely will not stop at just speakers either, most people that try to keep the factory Entune system end up replacing that with aftermarket because of frustration with messy signal and poor audio quality

I’ll start with the loaded box and see if that fills the bass out better. I ordered it today and James sent me the build sheet. Once it’s installed, I’ll report back with the results.

Update: Ordered the box on Monday 9/27 and it was shipped on Monday 10/04. 7 calendar days from the time it was ordered which was stated in the order email due to fiberglass cure time. Should have the box by Thursday and will be installed no later than this weekend.
I'll update once I install it and test it out.

I added dual 12" subs to the stock JBL system and did not notice much of a difference using HD radio and Pandora. One day I decided to use my Apple music and holy cow what a difference. Rock has some thump to it and pop will rattle the mirrors. I am still going to put in a DSR1 & a new amp but for now it is a world of differnce.

I noticed that the XM channels have a much better quality compared to the FM and and even the FM HD channels. I have not tried Apple Music yet.

FedEx delayed the delivery and it was delivered today. Everything was super easy to remove and install. I removed the factory sub from the box and cut the wires inside the box. The factory sub is very light compared to the new enclosure and sub. The new enclosure is very well made. I was impressed with the fiberglass reinforcement and the way the box was chambered and ported. The new sub is built so much better than the oem sub. The seat went back in place and lines up perfect. I still need to play with the settings but so far I think the sound is clearer and it has a little more punch. I was able to turn the bass down and the treble up to help keep the front speakers more clear.

Bergy, Do you have any tips on how to place the sub behind the seat? I'm asking because I recently purchased the same box for my 2021 1794 and no matter where I place the box the driver's side rear seat sticks out further than the passenger side. James said to slide it further to the passenger side but the seat bracket starts to interfere with the sub. I did not remove the sound deadening on the rear wall, but I'm not sure the would help.
    Thanks,
    Ryan

The factory sub enclosure has 3 bolts. 1 on the bottom left, 1 on the bottom right and one top right. I placed the new enclosure about 1 1/4" +/- away from the bottom right bolt in the floor (drivers side) (which I reinstalled) I did not reinstall the other bolts, and if you did it may be pushing the box out slightly. When putting your seat in, start with the passenger side rear bolt first. This should be the coarse thread bolt. Then move to the drivers side rear, then to the front bolts. Let me know how it sounds when you get it done.
